Als Paw Pals will be CLOSED for bookings from 9/9-9/19 as I am getting married! Please expect a response to any inquiries after this time period. This is Desi Arfnez. Desi injured her knee, rupturing her cranial cruciate ligament and meniscus, which resulted in surgery. After her operation, her family was nervous to leave her home and return to work.
Today I stayed with her for their peace of mind and her safety. We followed her surgeons post op care instructions carefully. I administered pain medication, checked the incision for healing progress, cold compressed the surgical site, and began passive range of motion exercise.
She also enjoyed snacks on a snuzzle and a lick mat. These food enrichments help kill time and boredom. The harder they have to search for food, the more fulfilled their need for activity! These can be a great way to run some “mental miles” when on exercise restriction.
