Rooster rescue at Libbey Rd. Our group was contacted about a rooster that was dumped at Libbey Rd and SR 20 that needed to be rescued. Off we went. After waiting we tried but failed with a net attempt so we decided to wait him out. He finally perched around 8:30 and we were able to sneak up on him. Never knew I could move so slow! Probably pretty funny watching an old lady creeping through the woods all stealth like. He was finally grabbed between 9:30 and 10. We can all relax knowing he’s safe and cared for. Another successful rescue.

Sad news 💔
Rest in peace 🙏

Devastation happened yesterday as we, the rescue community, were hit with a tremendous loss💔 Long-time animal rescue pilots Matthew and Paul Berkovitz, father & son ..... were killed in a small plane crash in Simi Valley, California.

Their beloved dog, Brody, who regularly traveled as a co-pilot on rescue missions, was in the cockpit with them and also passed.

Paul and Matthew volunteered for Pilots N Paws, helping rescue animals across the USA. They’ve saved countless animals from euthanasia and are huge animal lovers.

We send our heartfelt condolences to their family and friends for their devastating loss. 💔

After a week long adventure Kobe is home safe and sound.
He's doing so well! More updates to come...Kelvin & Kobe are trying to catch up on some long needed rest.
Kelvin works nights & would barely rest to search for Kobe. Kelvin was consistent in his search and never gave up hope. No visible injuries. Kobe will see his vet for a full checkup. It was such a stressful search to find Kobe. Our community was so wonderful in helping with tips & searching. Kelvin is active duty and stationed in Oak Harbor. He has military orders to leave this weekend. Kobe coming home was everything he wanted before he had to leave. This story started off troubled but has the best ending possible. 🫶🌟🙏🐶

Important Information for all Microchipped Pets!
Important Update: Re-Register Your Pet’s Microchip
To ensure your pet’s safety and that their microchip information remains active, we strongly recommend re-registering their microchip with a different company as soon as possible. Below are a few reputable microchip registries where you can update your pet’s information:

HomeAgain – https://www.homeagain.com

AKC Reunite – https://www.akcreunite.org

PetLink – https://www.petlink.net

Found Animals Registry – https://www.foundanimals.org/microchip-registry/

If you are unsure whether your pet’s microchip was registered with Save This Life, you can check the status by entering their microchip number into the Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool: https://www.petmicrochiplookup.org.

Your pet’s microchip is a vital safeguard in case they are ever lost. Please take a few minutes to ensure their information is updated with a reliable registry.

UPDATE: KOBE IS HOME!

*** Sweet Kobe is still lost but, we have some updates ***
Last Spotted: On 2/19 around 8 PM, Kobe was seen on Miller Rd, heading towards I-20 near the Blue Fox Drive-In.
He's been frequenting the Miller Rd, Scenic Heights, and neighborhoods around Swantown Ave. These areas seem to be where he's hanging out, so they're great places to search. If you're in or near these areas, please stay alert and keep an eye out for him! Contact his owner, Kelvin, for more guidance on where to search.
Reminder: Kobe has been hit by cars since his disappearance, so he is injured and likely to be cautious around strangers. He may run away if approached. If you spot him, try to follow him, but the best thing you can do is snap a photo and send his location to his owner, Kelvin.
