🐾 Tick Season Is Here! 🐾
We're seeing more ticks this time of year, and they're not just a nuisance—they can carry diseases that affect both pets and people.
The best way to protect your pup is to keep them on a veterinarian-approved flea and tick preventative. Prevention is much easier (and safer) than dealing with an infestation later.
If your dog has been hiking, camping, or spending time in tall grass, be sure to check them over when you get home. If you find a tick or you're unsure what to do, don't hesitate to call your groomer or your veterinarian for guidance.
At Salty Dog Mobile Grooming, I'll always let you know if I find a tick during your groom. While I may be able to remove an attached tick when it's safe to do so, routine prevention is still the best defense for your dog's health.

✨ A little about me... ✨

I thought it was about time I properly introduced myself!

Back in 2017, I moved to Washington to try something completely new. While I was there, I started dog walking, and before long I completely fell in love with working with dogs. I knew I wanted more.

I've always been a creative person. One of my favorite hobbies was drawing and painting pet portraits, so combining creativity with caring for dogs just felt like the perfect path. Grooming gave me the opportunity to do both—build relationships with amazing dogs while bringing out their unique personalities.

Animals have always been a huge part of my life. When I was a little girl, I got a toy poodle for Christmas, and honestly... it was all over from there. ❤️ From that moment on, I knew my life would always include animals in one way or another.

Today, I have dogs of my own who are basically my children. They go just about everywhere with me, and they remind me every day why I love what I do.

When you trust me with your pup, you're trusting someone who truly sees them as family. My goal has never been to rush dogs through an appointment—it's to create a calm, positive experience where they feel safe, respected, and cared for.

Let's be honest—groomers get rushed. We get overbooked, overwhelmed, and sometimes frustrated. I know, because I used to be that groomer. 😅
But somewhere along the way, I realized that wasn't why I fell in love with this profession.
I don't want to rush dogs through an appointment just to stay on schedule. I want the time to build trust. If a dog is nervous, I want to move at their pace. If it's their first groom, I want them to leave thinking grooming isn't so scary—with plenty of treats, cuddles, patience, and positive experiences along the way.
For my brachycephalic pups, I take the extra time to hand dry them (no kennel drying here!) because their comfort and safety come first.
To me, grooming isn't just about sending home a beautiful haircut. It's about creating an experience where dogs feel safe, respected, and cared for. That's the kind of groomer I always wanted to be, and it's the kind of experience I strive to give every dog that steps into my van. ❤️
