Diamond Grit’s Knight (featured in this video) is a master of his craft. I just love watching how he works. I often speak of the bravery they demonstrate as catch dogs hunting the very dangerous wild Boar, but one of the attributes I love from my Corso the most is its very high intelligence.
I do not need to keep him in the dog box until he is needed. I can leave him loose by my side, he understands he needs to reserve his energy for his job, the battle that will come with a larger stronger beast. Despite his very high prey drive, he shows self control and an ability to think and analyze each scenario in a very unique way than I’ve seen other catch dogs be able to do.
Our other Corsi have also demonstrated this similar style of very intellectual approach to their job, and I absolutely love it. Even when the action gets intense, they can stay aware of what’s happening around them, adjust their approach if necessary, and respond to their handler instead of getting lost in the moment (tunnel vision during intense moments) like many catch dogs tend to do.
