🎉🐴 IT’S OFFICIAL: ROMANCH’S LAW HAS PASSED! 🐴🎉

Today, the NYC Council voted to END horse-drawn carriages in New York City. 🗳️✅

After DECADES of fighting, failed bills, and too many lives lost, New York has finally said: no more. 💪

Here’s what Romanch’s Law does:
🚫 No new carriage licenses, starting now
🐎 Carriages off NYC streets by June 1, 2028
🤝 A transition plan for carriage workers

46 deer and 14 moose were hit and killed on one stretch of Interstate 80 in the 2 years before the bridge opened. That stretch runs near Parleys Summit, just east of Salt Lake City. Erin Ferguson kept the count for a group called Save People, Save Wildlife.

In December 2018 Utah opened its first wildlife overpass, a bridge about as long as a football field, built only for animals. It cost $5 million, and it's covered in dirt and plants so it doesn't feel like a road.

Cameras have watched it ever since, and they've seen plenty. A Utah State University study counted more than 4,300 visits by at least 34 kinds of animals between 2020 and 2024. Mule deer crossed about once a day, and moose showed up about 150 times. Bears and bobcats used it as well.

Of the deer and moose that walked up to the bridge, 98 percent went all the way across. On that part of Interstate 80, crashes with wildlife dropped by as much as 77 percent. The cameras show moose strolling across the top while the trucks roll by underneath.

As I previously reported, in the early morning hours of Sep 2, a Canada-bound truck hauling 25 precious souls to their own versions of hell - the Viande
