🍂 Happy Thanksgiving from Prairie Paws Rescue 🐾
This season, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude. As an all-volunteer, foster-home-based rescue, everything we do is only possible because of the incredible people who stand beside us.
We are deeply thankful for our dedicated volunteers who give their time, love, and energy to pets in need.
For our compassionate foster families who open their homes and hearts, offering safety and second chances.
For our wonderful adopters who choose rescue and give our animals the loving forever homes they deserve.
And for every single supporter who donates, shares our mission, or simply believes in what we do — your kindness keeps our work going.
From all of us at Prairie Paws Rescue, and the pets whose lives you’ve helped change… thank you.
Wishing you a warm, peaceful, and joy-filled Thanksgiving. 🧡🐶🐱

READ this…. Before rehoming your cat. I’ve heard some people say the same things. Make sure you’re not adding to their stress. Thankfully I personally have not had to deal with this problem myself. But wanted to share with everyone so it doesn’t.

I have however rehomed cats that the owner said this. After the family dynamics have changed. New home, new baby, new animal, and the list goes on.

Also I had a shelter employee ask me if the cat was sleeping? Or when was the last time he or she slept? This cat was very destructive. Scratching at things they shouldn’t. Watch for those signs as well. The shelter employee said try this for two weeks. As the owner was signing up to surrender his pet. The owner ordered the toy that allowed the native cat instincts. If they don’t have something to curb their instincts like stalking and hunting prey. They don’t sleep deep and it leads to distress and they start clawing this up. Watch for triggers. What schedule do you have? Mine need playtime 2-3x’s a day. Usually 20 minutes or so. If fact mine wakes me up sometimes to turn on his laser. Once he plays for 20-30 minutes he comes back to bed sleeps soundly for hours. This is especially for indoor cats.

Just wanted to share if anyone has either of these issues.
