Keep those first days simple: a quiet resting spot, gentle routines, fewer visitors, & space to approach you when they’re ready. Let trust grow at their pace. ✨

🐾 Pup of the Week: Dakota! 🐾

Sweet Dakota came into Mom’s life after saying goodbye to her beloved Junior of 15 years. ❤️‍🩹

Dakota could never replace Junior & he isn’t meant to. He’s simply a beautiful new addition to the family, bringing a little joy and comfort while Mom continues to grieve the loss of her best friend. On the really hard days, Dakota has a special way of making her smile. 🥹🐾

And can we talk about this handsome little Cavapoo?! His coloring and pattern are absolutely GORGEOUS. He is seriously scrumptious! 🤎🤍

Graceful, gentle, athletic…& secretly a professional couch potato. 😂🤎 Whippets may be built for speed, but when they aren’t showing off those zoomies, they’re often happiest curled up somewhere soft & cozy with their favorite person.

These sweet, sensitive pups are known for their affectionate nature, incredible speed, & quiet companionship. And with that short coat & delicate skin, they have a few special grooming & care needs worth knowing, too. 🐾

🦷🐾 Let’s talk about the tooth! 🦷 🐶

Your pup’s smile deserves care, too! Puppies have 28 baby teeth, while adult dogs typically have 42. That’s a lot of little chompers to care for! 🤎

Daily brushing with a soft toothbrush and dog-safe toothpaste helps keep plaque in check. Persistent bad breath, red gums, or changes in chewing deserve a call to your veterinarian. Even pups who eat normally can have dental discomfort or gum disease.

At Barkberry, caring for our pups means sharing little ways to help them feel their best, from nose to tail. ✨
