THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

to everyone who made it out today on this perfect fall morning!

We had a total of 23 sighthounds- 18 greyhounds and 5 silken windhounds. Here are just a few photos that I managed to capture. I'm so sorry if I missed anyone 😬 If you have some photos please share them here too!

The boys are getting their big stretchies in before leaving for the Great Global Greyhound Walk this morning!

We'll be there a little early to start welcoming people and their hounds. Look for us at the beach house, I don't think you'll miss 2 greyhounds dressed in costumes 😄

Meet at 9:45 and we'll begin walking at 10! See you there!

The GGGW is TOMORROW!

As an added bonus, today is Hawk's 3rd birthday, so he'll be a newly minted 3 year old. Wish him a very Happy Birthday! The boys enjoyed some dog treats with whipped cream to celebrate.

Also in the comments: a deft cookie steal by Phoenix.

We worked on Hawk's outfit today! Look at those sweet eyes, how could a hound that looks so innocent earn the nickname Petty Officer Shenanigans? 😆😈💩

If you're worried about being the only hound in a Mythical costume, don't be. Here's Phoenix giving you a preview of his outfit and trust me, it's *extra*.

And on the other hand, there's absolutely no pressure if you aren't dressing up. We're perfectly fine if we're the only ones, we just want you to show up for a fun walk!

3 DAYS TO GO NOW!

Here's and overview map of where we're meeting and the paved walking path marked in blue. It's about a half mile walk. The small grey square that's circled in red is the beach house and that's where we'll all be meeting at 9:45am. There's plenty of parking too, that lot is never even close to half full.

In the past there's been various other activities going on such as 5k runs so make sure you find the greyhound group. No one wants to run a 5k unexpectedly 😆😆😆

5 MORE DAYS, WHAT!

That's right, there's just 5 more days until the GGGW. We've been busy trying on some costumes, what do you think? Phoenix in faerie wings 🪽 and Hawk wearing a banana 🍌 Not sure what a banana has to do with the Mythical theme but it sure suits him.

We already know we're going to see many, many greyhounds at the GGGW this month, but we'd LOVE to see other sighthound breeds too.

NOTE: some of these breeds may be quite small (ie Italian Greyhound) so EXTRA CARE must be taken if they're attending. Greyhounds have large prey drives so if you're bringing your Iggy, please plan on carrying them mindfully throughout the event.

Feel free to message us with any questions!

For our hounds and friends that may be a little far away from the Lakewood GGGW, our friends over at Greyhounds Around Town have organized a meet in Munroe Falls, 44262.
And if you didn't know there was a greyhound walking group around Tallmadge Ohio, you do now! If you're interested in joining up with them, here's their link. They're an awesome group and we've been to several of their walks as well.
