🐾 Hi friends, Pookie here.
I wanted to give everyone a little update from my very important position as Foster Home Porch Supervisor.
My final two heartworm injections are scheduled for June 15th and 16th.
After that, I still have one more long month of strict activity restriction before I can finally be neutered.
And friends, I need you to understand something. Keeping a young, intact pup calm is not easy.
🐾 I have energy.
🐾 I have opinions.
🐾 I have important sniffing to do.
🐾 I have squirrels to judge.
And yet, everyone keeps telling me I have to rest. Thankfully, my foster family is helping me through it with lots of love, patience, and quiet time. Right now, my favorite thing is sitting outside and watching the world go by.
❗️But here is the serious part.
Heartworm treatment is hard - on everyone. It is long, painful, expensive, and comes with months of strict activity restrictions.
The good news is that heartworm disease is preventable.
Please keep your dogs on regular, vet approved heartworm prevention.
Prevention is so much easier, safer, and kinder than treatment.
💙 And if you would like to help rescue pugs going through heartworm treatment or help us prevent more dogs from facing it in the first place, please consider donating to HEART for Pugs. Your support helps dogs like me get the care we need.

I am so close to the finish line. Please keep me in your thoughts for my upcoming injections plus my future rest and neuter surgery.
Love,
Pookie
