Red Barn Rescue Pups Red Barn Rescue is a volunteer run, 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving dogs and puppies from shelter euthanasia in North Carolina.

Most of the dogs in our rescue are saved from high kill shelters, some were homeless and abandoned. Red Barn Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit organization located in Clayton, NC dedicated to saving dogs and puppies from shelter euthanasia. This adorable 20-pound guy looks like a miniature Golden Retriever and has a personality just as cute as his face! At around 5 years old, Foxy is playful, affectionate, and still has plenty of puppy spirit. He's a total lap dog who loves attention and does well with smaller dogs, although bigger dogs make him a little nervous.

Boris is a happy, friendly little guy who loves meeting people and soaking up attention. At just 1–2 years old and around 30 pounds, he's a great size for someone looking for a fun-loving companion!

Red Barn has committed to pull Humphrey from the Harnett County Animal Shelter (Lillington), but he needs a ride from the shelter to the barn today. It's a 58 minute/33 mile drive from the shelter to the barn. Anyone available to help this little guy out?

Meet Peppa! 🐷

Peppa is a 1-year-old Staffie mix with a wonderful personality and an adorable snort! She was found as a stray by a kind woman who made sure she was safe and registered her with the county shelter in hopes that her family would come looking for her. Sadly, no one ever did. But Peppa's rescuer welcomed Peppa into her home, started her veterinary care, and reached out to Red Barn Rescue for help finding her a forever family.

Peppa is a happy, energetic, curious little lady who believes every day is the best day ever! She loves exploring, playing in the backyard, and being involved in absolutely everything her people are doing. And yes, she's named after Peppa Pig - because she SNORTS in her sleep! She is a young dog so she still gets some puppy energy that she needs to burn off - but after that she is more than happy to snuggle.

Peppa is housetrained (and not one single accident in the house, even when left alone while her foster is at work.) and great in the car. Her foster mom says she is tethered in the car though since she thinks she needs to be close enough to help you drive. 🤣

Peppa is dog AND cat friendly! She adores her foster siblings, including a 130-pound Great Pyrenees who isn't always thrilled with her enthusiastic affection. When he tells her he's had enough, Peppa respectfully backs off.

Peppa has already been spayed, microchipped and started her vaccines. Her wonderful foster has been working with her every day on socialization and helping her become the best little companion she can be. Red Barn will help complete her vetting and she is ready for her forever home! She would LOVE an active family who will include her in their adventures, give her plenty of playtime, and appreciate all the goofy, snorting, Staffie sweetness she has to offer!

🚨 NEWBIE ALERT! Meet PRETZEL! 🥨

This sweet boy was running out of time at the shelter, and we couldn't let his story end there! After spending weeks waiting for someone to save him, Pretzel recently became a Red Barn Rescue dog! ❤️

Pretzel is an adorable 1-year-old Lab mix weighing just 37 pounds. He's friendly, energetic, curious, and loves getting out for walks! He does well on a leash and is the shelter said he is good with both dogs AND cats! Sounds like a pretty great little guy to us!

Pretzel will be neutered soon and still has some vetting to complete before he's adoption-ready. But you know what would make his fresh start even better? A foster home!

After spending so much time in a shelter, we'd love nothing more than for Pretzel to have a comfy home, some love, and a little normalcy while he finishes his vet care and waits for his forever family to find him. This has the added bonus of freeing up a kennel for us to save another dog from death row!

Seriously, how is this amazing girl still waiting for someone to notice her?!

At just 2 years old and a perfectly compact 30–35 lbs., Zuri is everything you could want in a doggie companion! She's dog friendly, silly, playful, affectionate, and just an all-around HAPPY girl! She's also the kind of dog you can take into new situations with ease. Zuri is so relaxed, friendly, and comfortable meeting new people and experiencing new things. She's simply a joy to have around!

So why is this wonderful girl still waiting for a family of her own? We honestly can't figure it out!

🚨Zuri will be featured as WRAL's Pet of the Day TODAY! 📺 We're hoping that whether someone sees her adorable face on TV or comes across this post, they'll recognize what we've known all along… Zuri is a GEM who deserves a family to love her!

If you're not quite ready to adopt, fostering would give her a comfy home, lots of love, and a break from rescue life while she waits for her forever family to find her.

4-Legged Therapy for Some Very Deserving Teachers! ❤️

The principal of Riverwood Elementary School reached out to us last month about bringing some rescue dogs to the school on a teacher workday so their hardworking staff could enjoy a little 4-legged therapy. 🐕 We were happy to oblige! Buddy, Gingerbread, Zuri, and Koda spent a couple of hours spreading smiles, soaking up attention, and providing some puppy love!

Buddy has a knack for winning people over with his calm presence. He's impossible not to love! Gingerbread and Zuri were sweet with everyone they met, but apparently thought the best part of the day was having a buddy to romp around with! 🤣

But we were most THRILLED to be able to take our big boy, Koda, to this event! Koda isn't always his best self around other dogs because he wasn't properly socialized by his former family as a puppy. So he typically has to skip events at places like breweries, where there are unfamiliar dogs who might run up to him, etc. This was the PERFECT opportunity for Koda to get out there and show people how wonderful he is! He was sweet, gentle, and beautifully behaved, happily accepting hugs and attention from everyone and showing off what a wonderful companion he can be. He's truly a big teddy bear! 🐻

We are so glad the dogs brought a little joy and relaxation to the teachers' day! And outings like this are just as valuable for our rescue dogs. They get to experience new places, meet new people, practice their social skills, and, hopefully, catch the eye of someone who might offer them a forever home. We are so glad Riverwood Elementary invited us to be a part of their teacher workday!

When we first introduced Tori, we mentioned her mesmerizing, multicolored eyes. Well, we FINALLY managed to capture their uniqueness in a few photos from this weekend's event! 📸

This sweet girl is incredibly friendly, affectionate, and full of love. At just 1–2 years old and around 33 pounds, Tori is a wonderful size with a whole lot of love to give. She's dog-friendly, enjoys her walks, and has a happy, wiggly personality that's impossible not to adore!

The skies may have been gray, but we were feeling all sunshine and rainbows at the 3rd Annual Paws for Cause event at Carolina Overlook today!

What an AMAZING day for rescue! Despite the dreary weather, this incredible community came together to raise approximately $8,000, along with TONS of donated food and supplies to benefit Red Barn Rescue and other area rescue!

We are absolutely blown away by the generosity and kindness of the Carolina Overlook community. And we are so proud to have some of its wonderful residents among our Red Barn volunteers!

Our dogs were real stars today!

Lulu was her usual adorable, sweet self, while Lila spread happiness and kisses wherever she went! Zuri stole hearts in the cutest little raincoat. Boris was thrilled to meet everyone, and Tori was an absolute doll, greeting everyone with her happy, friendly personality! Buddy was a PERFECT gentleman, and we wouldn't be surprised if today's outing leads to an adoption application!

And sweet little Nellie, the newcomer? The excitement was a bit overwhelming for her, so she spent much of the time cozy and safe on her foster's lap. Sometimes the best place to be is snuggled up with someone you trust! ❣️

A HUGE thank you to Tom and everyone who organized, supported, donated, and participated in today's event. And a special thank you to our amazing fosters and volunteers who braved the damp weather to give our dogs a chance to shine. We couldn't do this without you!
