Jax is a young German Shepherd mix, possibly with a little Akita, and while he may be a bit smaller than your typical shepherd, his personality more than makes up for it. At less than a year old, Jax is energetic, incredibly smart, and full of life. He already knows commands like āsitā and ācrate,āhappily going into his crate when asked, and he walks well on a leashāhe just needs the occasional reminder about whoās in charge.
Jax absolutely loves people and thrives on attention. He does well with adults and children who know how to properly interact with dogs. Heās also friendly with cats and does a great job respecting their boundaries when they make them clear. With other dogs, Jax can be friendly with his āfence buddies,ā but he can struggle with direct interactions. With patience, guidance, and consistent training, he has the potential to keep learning and improving.
Like many young dogs, Jax is still learning about the world. Sometimes he plays a little rough when he gets excited and doesnāt always realize how strong he is, but he has no intention of hurting anyoneāheās just a growing pup figuring things out. He may jump when he gets excited, but once a firm boundary is set, he typically respects it well. He even has great table manners and doesnāt beg while the humans are eating.
Jax would do best in a home without other dogs and with older children. Thatās not saying he wouldnāt do good with another pup but he needs a family who is able to have patience with him and a family that is willing to set clear boundaries, provide structure, and help guide him as he continues to grow into the wonderful dog he is meant to be. With his intelligence, loyalty, and loving personality, Jax has so much potential to be an incredible companion.
Jax truly is an amazing dog who loves being around people and soaking up attention. If youāre looking for a loyal, smart, and energetic companion, please consider Jax as your new best friend.
