🐾💕 FRANCIS’ BUCKET LIST: Because Every Dog Deserves a Lifetime of Love 💕🐾

Meet Francis. A sweet senior girl who stole the hearts of the shelter workers who protected her so fiercely and she has already stolen our hearts, but whose story is one that absolutely breaks them, too. 💔

Francis came to Sacred Pawz carrying more than any dog should have to endure. We are working closely with our veterinarian to understand what we’re facing and what options are best for Francis.

We don’t know how much time we have with this beautiful girl. It could be months. It could be years. Right now, we simply don’t know.

But here’s what we DO know.

Francis deserves more.

So, we’re creating something special.

✨🐾 FRANCIS’ BUCKET LIST! 🐾✨

Here’s what we’ve come up with so far:

🧸 A trip to PetSmart to walk the aisles and pick out her very own toy. (This is FIRST on the list!)

🌊 A trip to the beach to feel the sand beneath her paws and smell that salty ocean air.

☕ Her very first pup cup because every good girl deserves a special treat!

🥩 A delicious steak dinner fit for a queen! Cut into teeny, tiny pieces, of course.

🐾❤️ BIG NEWS! Please help us welcome the newest member of the Sacred Pawz Rescue team — Michelle Bertorini! ❤️🐾

You know what they say… it takes a village to save dogs, and our little village just got a whole lot bigger! 🥹

Michelle’s journey with SPR started when she met Erica and Stephanie at work (yes, believe it or not, we DO have full-time jobs outside of rescue! 😂). What started as a conversation about rescue turned into Michelle opening her home and heart as a foster. And well… once you join the SPR family, it’s pretty hard to leave! 😉

Not only has Michelle been an incredible foster, but she’s also an SPR adopter! She gave our sweet Stella her furever home, and along with her pups Dug and Daisey, she’s bringing three very important four-legged members to our official SPR mascot squad! 🐶🐶🐶

But now, Michelle is taking on an even BIGGER role with Sacred Pawz! 🎉

She’s rolling up her sleeves and learning all the behind-the-scenes magic (and chaos 🤪) that goes into running a rescue, including:

🐾 Coordinating transports and saving lives

🐾 Fundraising and community outreach

🐾 Rescue intake and coordination

🐾 Social media and email campaigns

🐾 Foster and adoption applications

🐾 And about a MILLION other things that somehow end up on a rescue’s to-do list! 😂

The truth is, rescue is so much more than cuddling puppies and finding forever homes. It’s late nights, endless messages, tough decisions, happy tears, heartbreak, and a whole lot of love. Having someone willing to jump in, learn the ropes, and help carry that load means more than we can put into words.

Michelle, we are SO excited to have you stepping into this bigger role. Your heart for these animals, willingness to help, and dedication to making a difference are exactly what SPR is all about. ❤️

We want to wish a very special foster the happiest birthday!! We are so incredibly lucky to have Theresa Ayers as part of our medical foster team! Her knowledge, love and care make some of our hardest cases a little easier. Happy birthday, Theresa! We hope this year brings you nothing but joy, love and so much fun!

🐾 WHY FOSTER WITH SACRED PAWZ? 🐾

People often tell us, “I could never foster. I’d get too attached.”

And we understand. You probably will get attached.

You’ll celebrate the little wins. You’ll fall in love with them. You may cry when they leave.

But you’ll also get to watch a scared dog learn that hands can be gentle.
You’ll watch a neglected dog become healthy again.
You’ll see a puppy learn how to live in a home.
And eventually, you’ll watch a dog you helped save walk into the arms of the family they were always meant to find. ❤️

One of our longtime fosters, Jacoba Kemper, shared what fostering has meant to her:

“Fostering with Sacred Pawz has been the BEST and occasionally most DIFFICULT job I have ever had. It has also been the most FULFILLING work I have ever done!

We’ve had the pleasure of fostering 21 dogs in 4ish years fostering with Sacred Pawz. Puppies, adult dogs, abused or neglected dogs, and even suspected bait dogs. Every single one has found their furever home!

I have wanted to keep every single pup we have fostered. The hardest part of fostering is helping to make them whole and then letting them go to the best family they could ask for. I just keep reminding myself if we keep a foster we can’t continue to foster. It’s HARD not to keep them all!

I am so pleased to be a part of the Sacred Pawz family. They are always there for me, and available to help with anything I need. If you are considering fostering Sacred Pawz is the rescue you want to pair with.”

21 dogs. 21 lives changed. 21 dogs who got their happily ever after because one family was willing to say, “You can stay with us until your forever family finds you.”

Sacred Pawz provides our fosters with support throughout the process, and we cover the dog’s approved medical care and supplies they need. You provide the part we cannot buy:
