I was recently asked how did you get started in the dog show world…the simple answer is

Kobra — The Dog Who Started It All 🩶🤍

Every journey has a beginning, and for Bourbon Country Schnauzers, that beginning was Kobra.

When she came into our lives, I never imagined where she would take us. I certainly never planned on becoming involved in the dog show world however I was talked into showing her simply because of her color and the low numbers of pepper salt in the ring. What started as taking a chance on one pepper salt Giant Schnauzer turned into a passion for showing, learning, wanting to breed for preservation, and sharing life with incredible people along the way.

Kobra opened doors I never knew existed. Because of her, we found our way into the ring. Because of her, we met mentors and lifelong friends. Because of her, Bourbon Country Schnauzers grew into what it is today.

From Giants to Standards to Miniatures, every dog that has followed can trace their story back to one special girl.

The titles and ribbons are wonderful, but that’s not what makes Kobra special. She is family. She has a home with us for life. We love her dearly, and I think she loves us even more.

No matter where this journey takes us next, there will only ever be one dog who started it all.

✨Last day of the show weekend in southwest Ohio✨

🖤 Rosie takes Reserve Winners Bitch under Judge Mrs. Beverly Andersen. So proud of our young girl and the consistency she continues to show.

🩶🤍Woody Hayes earned Best of Opposite S*x for points, and Best of Breed Owner-Handled under Judge Mr. Gary Andersen. We also scored an Owner-Handled Group 4 on our last day! So proud of our handsome boy as he continues working toward his Grand Championship.

Thank you to all of the judges who awarded my schnauzers and for all of the kind words throughout the weekend.

Congratulations to all of the winners!

Busy day for Bourbon Country Schnauzers! ✨

Took AKC GCH CH Firesilver Kobra BCAT CGC FDC ATT out for a spin and she earned Best of Opposite S*x (no points) along with some Owner-Handled points toward her Bronze.

AKC CH Nordic Sky’s Braveheart Woody Hayes earned Select Dog yesterday for a point, and today took Breed working on his Grand Championship! We also picked up Owner-Handled points. Thank you Judge Mr. Ken Murray for honoring our young boy in a nice lineup.

So proud of young black Miniature Schnauzer puppy -  AKC Ebonheir Queen of Roses went Reserve Winners Bitch both yesterday and today! Thank you Judge Mr. James Moses for the kind words today about our beautiful black girl and for noticing her.

Congratulations to all the other winners this weekend! 🏆

First day at the Echo Hills of Ohio KC show and we are proud of our schnauzers! 🖤

AKC Ebonheir Queen of Roses goes Reserve Winners Bitch in a nice lineup as the youngest one in there on only her second weekend out showing! Thank you Judge Mr. Ken Murray for noticing our beautiful black bitch. So proud of our young girl and the progress she is making.

AKC CH Nordic Sky’s Braveheart Woody Hayes earned BOS today in a nice lineup while working towards his Grand Championship. Thank you Judge Dr. Tracy Powell for awarding our handsome boy. 🩶🤍

So proud of both of our schnauzers and excited for what is ahead. ✨🐾

Group One Owner-Handled today for Woody at the Blennerhassett Kennel Club, Inc.!

Huge thank you to Judge Mr. Jason Hoke for honoring my handsome Standard Schnauzer with this award, and for the kind compliments on his jacket and the work I’ve put into him. It means so much and is very appreciated.

Nothing in OH Best in Show today, but Woody showed fantastic and I am one happy, proud owner of this handsome boy.

Thank you to all my friends on the sidelines cheering us on and supporting us. I appreciate you all more than you know!

Rosie our black miniature schnauzer puppy also did well today. She’s having fun, and for her first weekend out, that matters the most to me. Her daddy, however finished his grand championship today! Woohoo 🥳

Today we celebrate the moms behind the scenes — the ones raising babies, cleaning paws, loading show gear, losing sleep over litters, cheering from ringside, and loving every dog like family.

From the schnauzer moms to the human moms, your patience, strength, and unconditional love never go unnoticed. Whether your house is full of kids, dogs, or both… we hope your day is filled with kisses, wagging tails, and lots of love. 🐾
