Born: November 2021
Spayed & microchipped: June 14, 2022
Vaccinations: Up to date; all paperwork is available.
Personality: Extremely sweet, affectionate, cuddly, and loving. She loves sleeping, toys, and being close to her person. She often needs to be touching you to sleep.
Kids: Would do well with children.
Other animals: Best suited to a home without other animals. She is scared of dogs and generally wants to avoid them. She may bark at other dogs but has not shown a strong desire to interact with them.
Food/toys: Does not resource guard. You can take her food or toys without aggression.
Training/leash: Good on walks and leash, though she may pull when she sees a cat. She was never successfully crate trained.
Anxiety: Has severe separation anxiety, which began after her owner started working outside the home and has become significantly worse since moving to an apartment. She currently takes 200 mg trazodone and 40 mg Prozac for anxiety.
Destructive behavior: When left alone, she may bark excessively, chew/destroy furniture and other objects, and has even eaten drywall. She cannot safely be crated because she has previously injured herself trying to escape.
Allergies/skin: Has seasonal allergies, especially in the fall, causing dry skin. She takes Apoquel approximately October–March. She eats sensitive-skin dog food and is suspected to have a chicken allergy.
Other: She does not eat people food.
Ideal home: Someone who is home most or all of the time and can provide lots of companionship, patience, affection, and reassurance. She would likely do best as the only pet.
Current situation: Her owner has tried taking her back to her previous home, but she is also destructive when left alone there, and her can no longer have her in the house. The current apartment situation is becoming difficult because of barking complaints and destruction.
Overall: She is a very loving, gentle “big baby” who desperately wants companionship. Her biggest challenge is severe separation anxiety rather than aggression. Her owner wants to find her a loving home where she will receive the attention, cuddles, and care she needs.
