Just a glimpse of my week in the PNW for the 51st annual AAZK conference. I learned a lot, reconnected with some old friends, made some new ones, and had so much fun!
We started with a pre-conference trip to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle and mid way through the conference had a dual zoo day! We started the morning off at Northwest Trek Wildlife Park and ended at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium in Tacoma. Thanks aazkinc for such an amazing conference!

Zola is looking more and more like an adult 🥺 only 2 months away from turning 2, when she’s officially considered an adult. Cheetahs are cubs from birth until they are around 1.5 years old. Then they are considered adolescents until they turn 2. They still have young cheetah features for a little while after that though. Rozi, our 4 year old cheetah, I don’t think looked like an adult till she was closer to 3 years old. Since the 3 girls are our youngest cheetahs at the Cat Ambassador Program, we still, within the team, call them the “cubs/babies/cubbies”.
