Medical update from the sanctuary 🩺🐾
Mr. Frankie is having an eye issue. He has chronic scarring of his eyes due to his breed plus a growth on his eyelid we have been monitoring for awhile- we'd like to avoid surgery if possible due to his age.

Just recently he's had crusty discharge and it was important to get him into the vet to ensure we aren't missing something serious (glaucoma, dry eye, etc). Luckily his testing looked good but his tear production was a little low. We are getting him started on medications today and rechecking the tear production after his eyes are less inflamed to make a better long-term plan.

Our sanctuary situation is unique. We have Dr. Jamie's expertise but limited medical equipment and no staff so we do pursue care at local primary care vets as needed. This means we still have vet bills, and you know how those add up. 😵‍💫😵‍💫His testing and meds today costed $232. Thank you for Hadlock Vet for getting him in quickly and providing compassionate care Hadlock Veterinary Clinic He met so many new friends today 🐾🩷

Medical update from the sanctuary 🩺🐾
Titan and Amos received the dental care they've always deserved. 😇

For many dogs, especially seniors, dental care is not prioritized. It's costly, easily ignored (out of sight, out of mind!), and often requires anesthesia. But we've seen too often that poor oral health leads to infection and pain reducing quality of life.

Titan arrived at the sanctuary with a mouth full of badness. His prior owners did not keep up on the care he needed to stay healthy- his blindness also arose from chronic neglect of his Dry Eye condition- leaving both eyes scarred and non visual. Now that Titan's eyes and Addisons disease are being managed, his mouth could be addressed. Through our partnership with Center Valley Animal Rescue we were able to make that happen! 🌟

Titan had 9 teeth removed and a full cleaning. We worked quickly so he wasn't under anesthesia too long, but his procedure was extensive.
To keep him comfortable during his recovery he's needing antibiotics, probiotics, and pain medication costing approximately $75- is anyone able to step up to help keep this little guy comfortable while he heals?

Amos also received recent dental work including the removal of a large premolar that was fractured and became infected. We had been monitoring this tooth for a long time, in hopes it would not bother him, but eventually the decision became clear that it needed to go! He also requires some additional medications if anyone is able to step up.

Senior vet care brings challenges, often managing multiple conditions at one time and prioritizing what can be managed while supporting what cannot. These difficult decisions are made by our veterinarian Dr. Jamie, with deliberate care. By creating special relationships with each of our dogs she's able to weigh the pros and cons of each treatment and make a plan tailored to each pup, with comfort and quality of life in mind.

🙏Thank you to Center Valley Animal Rescue for helping bring this needed care to 2 special seniors, offsetting an approximate cost of $3,000. 🙏 Thank you to our family, for stepping in with love, supplies, and financial support when these dogs need extra care. This care could not happen without YOU!

It takes a village to provide compassionate care for senior dogs every day. 🐾😇

At Gray Muzzle Project, every meal prepared, every dog walked, every volunteer shift covered, and every behind-the-scenes task completed helps create the stable, loving environment our dogs deserve.

We’re currently looking for support in the following roles:

🐾Caretakers — Help oversee each dog's daily needs including: giving medications, feeding, cleaning, and enrichment Training will be provided.

🐾Dog Walkers — Help keep our dogs moving, engaged, and enjoying fresh air.

🐾Dog Food Chef — Help prepare fresh, homemade meals for our dogs in the comfort of your own kitchen.

🐾Operations Support — Help keep the sanctuary clean and organized by helping with dishes, laundry, and one-off projects.

🐾Community Engagement Lead — help connect GMP with local businesses, events, and supporters

More volunteers means more support for the dogs already in our care — and greater capacity to help future senior dogs in need.

If you hold love in your heart for senior dogs, and can spare a few hours a week to help, please Visit our website www.thegraymuzzleproject.org to learn more about current volunteer opportunities and apply today.

Calling all gardeners! Fresh Eggs & Veggies Needed 🥕🥚

At Gray Muzzle Project, our dogs enjoy fresh, homemade meals made with human-grade ingredients to support their vitality, comfort, and quality of life.

With six senior dogs to feed and individualized diets to prepare, we're always in need of fresh eggs and vegetables to help keep their bowls and tummies full. These ingredients play an important role in the nutrition plans we carefully create for each dog.

If you'd like to support our pack, a great way to get involved is by providing donations of fresh eggs, vegetables, or help preparing meals. Monetary donations are also always appreciated and help us purchase ingredients when supplies run low.

Every egg, every carrot, and every act of kindness helps us continue providing exceptional care to these special seniors. 🤍🐾

Please email us at [email protected] if you'd like to donate or get involved in the fun!

Please join us in welcoming Geraldino to his forever home at Gray Muzzle Project. 🤍🐾

Geraldino has already lived through a lot in his life. He came from a hoarding situation and eventually made his way through a shelter and rescue before arriving safely at the sanctuary.

When we learned Geraldino needed a place to land, our incredible community stepped up. Because of donor support, we were able to provide transport, food, and the resources needed to welcome him into our care.

Geraldino also suffers from severe food allergies that once left his skin painful, inflamed, and infected. Thankfully, he is now stable, healing, and finally has a place where his needs can be carefully managed for the rest of his days.

Right now, our focus is helping Geraldino settle into sanctuary life with patience, comfort, and lots of love. His immediate needs include special treats, toys, immune-support supplements, and high-quality food to help him continue thriving. As we get to know him better, we'll continue fine-tuning his long-term care plan. Geraldino requires a very specific diet to stay healthy — beef is his only protein source, while poultry and fish are completely off the menu. He will also need ongoing supplements and allergy support moving forward.

Despite everything he's been through, Geraldino's personality is already starting to shine. He loves sleeping under the covers, may not know exactly what a leash is yet, and packs plenty of personality into his 9-pound frame. 🐶 Thank you to everyone who helped make Geraldino's rescue possible. Your support gave this sweet senior the chance to start a new chapter surrounded by safety, stability, and compassion.

With excellent care and a whole lot of love, we can't wait to watch Geraldino shine. We'll keep you posted every step of the way. 🤍

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our recent sanctuary work parties! 🤍🐾

Because of your hard work, we were able to refresh gardens, repaint entryways and fences, improve the pathway to the dogs' exercise area, and create an even more beautiful space for the senior dogs who call Gray Muzzle Project home.

Most importantly, our dogs received plenty of extra love, attention, and enrichment throughout the day.

A special thank you to the Community Tool Library for loaning us the tools that helped make these projects possible. As a small non profit we stretch our dollars as much as possible and this helped cut costs!

We are incredibly grateful for the support of our volunteers, community partners, and everyone who helps us continue providing comfort, dignity, and lifelong care to these special dogs.

We truly couldn't do it without you. 🤍

Becoming a Hero means more than making a donation. 🤍🐾

It means helping us say yes when a senior dog needs us most.

At Gray Muzzle Project, every dog who enters our sanctuary receives individualized hospice support for the rest of their life: medications, diagnostics, mobility support, specialized nutrition, comfort care, enrichment, and a safe place to land.

But sustainable rescue requires sustainable funding.

Right now, we are working toward welcoming another senior dog into our care. The reality is that monthly donors give us the stability and confidence to make those decisions thoughtfully instead of from a place of fear or uncertainty.

Hero Program members help create:
🤍 consistent medical care
🤍 daily support and nutrition
🤍 long-term hospice planning
🤍 future rescues and sanctuary growth

Even small monthly gifts make a meaningful difference because they allow us to plan ahead and continue building this work sustainably.

We intentionally started small, but our hope is to continue growing so more senior dogs can receive the comfort, dignity, and lifelong care they deserve.

If you’ve been looking for a way to directly support this mission, becoming a monthly Hero is one of the most impactful ways to help. 🤍 Please visit https://www.paypal.com/donate?hosted_button_id=5HT2YHTRCV8X8 to become a Hero today.

With love,
Frankie, Noodles, Titan, Amos, and Dulce 🩷

Good morning Gray Muzzle Family. 🩶🩺
There's a new little guy that needs our help. 🐾Gerald is a senior mutt who came from a hoarding situation in terrible condition. He suffers from severe food allergies and his skin was infected, bleeding, and painful. He's stabilized now and much healthier, but needs a long-term place to go that can accommodate specific dietary needs for the rest of his days, ensuring he never has to endure this again.

Here's how you can help? 🩷
🐾The trip to retrieve Gerald in his remote location is a 6 hour drive. Can you donate $50 to offset fuel costs and sponsor his trip home?
🐾Gerald requires a home cooked Beef diet and ongoing supplements to keep him healthy. We estimate this could cost at least $100 per month. Can you donate to offset the costs?

Please visit to donate to Gerald's rescue: https://www.paypal.com/donate?hosted_button_id=5HT2YHTRCV8X8 to donate, and we'll keep you updated if/when we are able to bring this guy home and into our forever care 🏠

Thanks in advance for the support!
