Fred & Ethel… but today, it’s Fred’s turn! 🐾

These two came in together, sharing a bed, their space, and a whole lot of comfort. Watching them cuddle up like this reminds us just how strong a doggie bond can be.

Yesterday, Ethel went home—and while we’re so happy for her, that meant Fred had to say goodbye to his best friend. 💔

Fred was found alongside Ethel by our D90 runners on a breezy Sunday morning. At first, he was a little scared, but with a few (okay… a lot) of yummy treats, he quickly warmed up. Now his sweet, playful personality is shining through!

This treat-motivated, affectionate boy loves pets, gives gentle kisses, and looks at you with the softest eyes when you speak kindly. He enjoys car rides, takes treats gently, and while he may need a little time to adjust to new environments, he’s already showing just how loving he is. At around 4 years old and 41 lbs, he’s the perfect medium-sized companion.

Fred shouldn’t have to spend another night alone. 🏡

From a highway nightmare to a warm embrace. 🐾💔

💙 A SECOND CHANCE FOR MILO

Milo is a heartbreaking reminder of what happens when humans fail those who cannot speak for themselves. He arrived in critical condition, unable to move his hind legs, with bones so fragile they appear "transparent."

His journey to recovery will be long, but we refuse to give up on him. Our goal is to provide the rehabilitation and specialized care he needs to finally live a life without pain.

This is Jimmy he’s was surrender yesterday for being 9 years old and he’s available at our sanctuary in Bakersfield CA.

These dogs are living in constant fear and stress inside the shelter. Many of them spend most of their days stuck in their kennels with little enrichment. If you want to bring them even a small moment of comfort, you can send a care package.

💔 UPDATE 🥺

It breaks our hearts to say this… no donations have come in yet for Nikki. 💔
Time is slipping away, and the vet has warned us that if we can’t raise $3,000 this week, Nikki will be euthanized to end her suffering.

She still smiles through the pain, still wags her tail when someone walks by — she wants to live. 🐶💞 But without help, that smile may fade forever.

Nikki has spinal cancer, and while she may never walk again, surgery would give her 6–7 beautiful months to enjoy life — months filled with love, sunshine, and cuddles. 🌤️

Please, we’re begging — don’t let Nikki’s story end like this.
