Boulevard Veterinary was founded in 2014 by Dr. Dylan Frederickson and opened its doors to the public in January, 2015. We believe that truly listening to a pet owner’s concerns is the foundation of providing intuitive care. We also try to get to know you as an individual, because we feel this helps us understand yours and your pet’s lifestyle and needs. We're also Midwesterners and just like being neighborly.

This week we celebrated Veterinary Receptionist Week! 🐾

We’re so incredibly lucky to have our incomparable Client Care Specialist team. This exceptional group brings such a unique set of skills to BLVD. Their expertise extends to so much more than simply providing Gold Standard client care.

From juggling clients to filling f***l samples to staying late so the opener doesn’t have extra to do; our CCS team is a well-oiled machine - all while petting a rambunctious puppy!

We look forward to spoiling them with treats throughout this week every year. Our gratitude for them is never ending!

Our team is growing! 🩺🐾

Dr. Spano will be joining BLVD River North as our newest associate veterinarian. You may also see him supporting our other locations from time to time - lucky for us (and your pets!)

A bit about Dr. Spano:

Originally from Pennsylvania, he earned his degree in Veterinary and Biomedical Science from Penn State before completing his DVM at Virginia Tech. He’s been in Chicago for nearly three years and is proud to call it home. His favorite part of being a veterinarian is building strong relationships with pets and their people, combining science and compassion to make a meaningful impact. He’s also Fear-Free Certified and dedicated to creating a calm, comfortable experience for every patient!

Fun fact: Dr. Spano was born without a sense of smell - yes, really! He can taste, but can’t smell… which might make him uniquely suited for some of vet med’s more aromatic moments.
We can’t wait for you to experience how kind, thoughtful and dedicated Dr. Spano is! Please join us in welcoming him.
