I have three dogs and I have crated trained all of them. Here’s why ⤵️

Kali — 16 year old, Chihuahua mix, 6 pounds
Bear — 11 year old, Akita/shepherd mix, 71 pounds
Chief — 2 year old, shepherd mix, 65 pounds

All three of my dogs have been crate trained and find comfort in the crate!

1️⃣ It provides a safe enclosed den/space for them to relax

2️⃣ It helps with providing structure & routine — e.g. potty training, feeding schedule (especially with numerous of dogs)

3️⃣ It’s for their safety! Chief is young and new to the family. So he gets bored & likes to test boundaries. He displays this behavior by getting into things. It would be dangerous for us to leave him out unsupervised.

4️⃣ In case of an emergency.
During the conference last year, we learned some emergency protocols from , and how the humane society helps animals in times of need. One of the things they do is ensure each pet has their own crate or enclosure.

Don’t wait for something to happen for your dog to experience a crate for the first time.

✨ Start crate training now to ensure your pup has a positive experience with it, and to help provide structure & routine within the home. ✨
