BONDED TRIPOD PAIR

Meet Leotie and Flounder, an irresistible bonded pair of black cats (estimated DOB: 5/13/2025). Leotie is an adorable kitten with a sleek black coat. Her foster family describes her as very talkative and attention-seeking. She’s quite tech-savvy and enjoys playing video games on her iPad. Flounder loves kicker toys and making biscuits with his one front paw. One of Flounder‘s favorite activities is perching on your shoulder like a parrot, especially if you let him play with your hair! Leotie and Flounder’s foster parents have also worked on carrier training and nail trimming. They are both big cuddle bugs and enjoy lap time with their foster parents. Leotie and Flounder have been in the same foster home for a few months, and they love to play, nap, and watch bird and fish TV together. They are both an absolute joy to foster and will make their future adopters so happy!

Both Leotie and Flounder are tripods. A Good Samaritan brought Leotie to VEG ER for Pets with a serious injury to one of her limbs. Turns out, Leotie had an old left hip luxation, and her left back leg was amputated. Flounder had a traumatic injury to his left brachial plexus, and his front left leg was amputated. They have both healed up well and get around like any other kitten their age.

Leotie and Flounder have become very comfortable with the dogs in their foster home. These are senior dogs who are very cat-friendly and gentle.

Sunny Boy is a handsome fellow with fabulous coloring! He's a wonderful mix of white with patches of buff (light orange) and is estimated to be born around mid-December of 2020.

Sunny was rescued from the streets by one of our rescue partners recently and has since been fully vetted. He's ready now for a home of his own and lots of attention.

He has kittens to play with occasionally in his foster home, but makes it clear that he'd like more time and love from a human, who can pet and spoil him. He hasn't had any exposure to kids. He's very chatty and energetic and would to love to share his experiences with you while you pet him. If you're busy, he loves his toys, too. Now that Sonny is safe and warm. let's make his life sunny with a forever home.

Bud (Buddy) is very smart and sweet brown and white tabby. While he enjoys his independence and does well when his foster mom is away for the day, he typically likes to be nearby and always needs some lap time during the day. He loves being pet, he especially loves head scratches and having his chin rubbed.

Bud is very social and curious and likes to be involved or observing.

Bud is very food motivated. . One of the cutest things he does is look at you and lick his lips to let you know he's hungry. It happens a lot, but it's always adorable. Because he is so food motivated, Bud does best with a few small meals throughout the day and benefits from a slow feeder. Although he is young (estimated DOB 10/14/2024), he is a large, long fellow which means he needs an extra-large litter box.

Bud loves play time and needs lots of it, as he is still quite young and energetic. He will play with most toys and likes to run and jump and stalk his prey. Some of Bud’s dislikes include being separated from people, getting his nails trimmed, belly rubs, being held for more than a minute or two, pellet litter, and the vacuum cleaner.

While he hasn’t been around other animals in our care, we think that he would benefit from another pet in the home due to his young age and energetic nature. Bud is also FIV+. He can be adopted into a home with other cats who are FIV+ or FIV-.

What Should You Know About FIV:
Humans and dogs cannot catch FIV. It is exclusively a feline virus that can only be spread to other cats through blood. This typically only occurs during very rough fights, which is why it is most common in cats who have lived on the streets. An FIV+ cat is very unlikely to spread the virus to an FIV- cat while play-fighting.

FIV is not a "sickness.” There are no medications or special treatment of any kind required. The only noticeable effect of FIV is a weakened immune system, so cats who are FIV+ should not go outside.

Little Red (DOB 8/18/2024) is a shy, sensitive orange tabby who needs time and space to feel safe in new places. Once she settles in, she becomes a peaceful and loyal presence in the home. Little Red stays close to her people while keeping a comfortable distance, following her own gentle routines. She is very curious, communicative, and independent. She loves quiet environments, sunny window perches, bird watching, and long naps on her round pillow. Little Red is playful with toys and hair ties. Food is a big motivator; salmon gravy has a special place in her heart!

Little Red prefers calm households and feels safest when humans are seated. She doesn't like being picked up, loud noises, or unfamiliar visitors, and she wouldn't do well with young children. She isn't a lap cat, but she enjoys soft pets at the times she chooses. Little Red needs to be the only cat in her household.

If you're looking for a sweet, peaceful companion who thrives in a serene home, Little Red might be your perfect match.

Affectionate little Shadow is a sweet, smart, and independent boy (estimated DOB: 2/26/2022). Shadow is incredibly easygoing and has adapted well each time another foster sibling joins the home. He gets along especially well with his foster brother, Whitney, and can often be found nurturing, bathing, and cuddling with him. Shadow loves playing with spring toys and will bring them to you to play. He is also very cuddly and loves to lay on your lap for tummy scratches!

When we rescued Shadow from Chicago Animal Care and Control, he was suffering from an upper respiratory infection and not eating. Thankfully, he made a full recovery and transitioned smoothly into the care of his foster family.

Shadow enjoys the company of other cats and should go into a home with a playmate. We would love to see him be adopted with his foster brother, Whitney.

Sweet little Whitney (estimated DOB 10/28/2025) is a very affectionate black cat who loves scratches, cuddling on your lap, gazing out the window, and watching movies. When not relaxing with you, Whitney spends his time playing with his toys (especially balls) and wrestling with his foster brother, Shadow. He is also a foodie who loves a good meal!

Whitney was found outside as a stray on a cold day in January. Timid and cautious at first, he soon warmed up to his foster mom and his foster brother. He was so brave adjusting to life indoors and has made leaps in his confidence and his sense of security.

Whitney can be adopted with his sibling Shadow or into a home with another young cat for him to socialize with.

All kittens must be adopted with another kitten or into a home with another young cat with which he or she can play and socialize. The majority of no-kill rescues nationwide adhere to this policy. This policy is NOT based on a desire to increase our number of adoptions, rather it ensures that the kittens we rescue, nurture, and love are adopted into homes that offer the best possible environment for their social development.

Ruby is a talkative orange tabby girl (approx. DOB 12/20/2020). Her golden eyes match her fur perfectly! Everyone in Ruby's life is a friend, and if she could be loved on all day she would be in heaven. She absolutely loves being petted and cuddling with you. She will bring a treat packet to you when she wants a snack and a toy when she wants to play. Ruby enjoys play time and loves chasing spring toys, wands, and you! Ruby also enjoys sharpening her claws on her banana scratching board and loves watching bird videos. Ruby is very easy to feed since she grazes throughout the day.

Ruby and her sister, Maggie, came to PPAH through the family of their owner, who sadly passed away. Ruby can be adopted with her sister Maggie, as they coexist very nicely. However, they are not bonded and can be adopted separately. They would be fine in a home with or without kids.

Miss Maggie is a beautiful long-hair brown tabby girl (approx. DOB 7/2/2020). She adores being brushed. She likes to sleep curled up against her human and will politely ask for pets by putting her paw on you. If the image of her tapping your arm and gazing into your eyes to ask for more pets isnt cute enough, you should see her snuggling up under the blankets! Maggie is out of the crazy kitten phase and generally prefers to lounge around the house. However, she perks up and has a blast when you pull out the laser pointers and wand toys. Maggie is very easy to feed since she grazes throughout the day.

Maggie and her sister, Ruby, came to PPAH through the family of their owner, who sadly passed away. Maggie can be adopted with her sister Ruby, as they coexist very nicely. However, they are not bonded and can be adopted separately. They would be fine in a home with or without kids. Maggie is accustomed to only being with Ruby. If she is adopted without Ruby, she likely will need to be the only pet in the house.

Toby is a beautiful ginger boy born 2/1/2026. He is a burst of energy who loves to play with his brother, Taffy, as well as the other fosters in his home.

Toby and Taffy were rescued from a farm by a PPAH rescue partner.

Toby must be adopted into a home with another kitten for him to associate and play with. He and Taffy would make a perfect adoption pair!
