Precious Pets Almost Home Precious Pets Almost Home rescues, fosters, and adopts out homeless pets. We are an all-volunteer organization.

We do not receive any federal, state or city funding. All of our support comes from concerned and involved individuals like you that share our compassion and love for cats and dogs in need of permanent, loving homes. Precious Pets Almost Home Association is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. All donations are fully tax-deductible and are used to provide care for our animals, as we have no paid staff.

Sweet little Whitney (estimated DOB 10/28/2025) is a very affectionate black cat who loves scratches, cuddling on your lap, gazing out the window, and watching movies. When not relaxing with you, Whitney spends his time playing with his toys (especially balls) and wrestling with his foster brother, Shadow. He is also a foodie who loves a good meal!

Whitney was found outside as a stray on a cold day in January. Timid and cautious at first, he soon warmed up to his foster mom and his foster brother. He was so brave adjusting to life indoors and has made leaps in his confidence and his sense of security.

Whitney can be adopted with his sibling Shadow or into a home with another young cat for him to socialize with.

All kittens must be adopted with another kitten or into a home with another young cat with which he or she can play and socialize. The majority of no-kill rescues nationwide adhere to this policy. This policy is NOT based on a desire to increase our number of adoptions, rather it ensures that the kittens we rescue, nurture, and love are adopted into homes that offer the best possible environment for their social development.

Meet Henry Sr., a tabby boy with an estimated date of birth of 2/7/2013. Henry is loving and affectionate on his own terms and would do best in a calm home with a human who appreciates the art of chilling out. He is seeking a forever home with people who speak his language, respect his boundaries, and know that the sweetest bonds take a little time to build. Henry is a low maintenance cat who is perfectly capable of keeping himself entertained. He was rescued by PPAH after his owner sadly passed away.

BONDED PAIR

Sadie is a gorgeous calico cat who came into our care with her stunning litter of kittens. With an estimated birthdate of 11/16/2024, Sadie is nearly a kitten herself, and she runs and plays with her babies as if she's reclaiming lost time! Sadie has become particularly close to her daughter, Eloise (estimated birthdate 3/2/2026), with whom she romps, chases, and wrestles. We suspect that Sadies diet prior to rescue consisted largely of table scraps, as she is highly motivated by the aroma of anything meaty, and will even try to beg for bread! Fortunately, she redirects beautifully with high value cat food and eats her meals calmly. An ideal family will be comfortable helping her continue her journey towards understanding that delicious food will always be available for her. Positive reinforcement is key!

Eloise is a gentle and loving kitten who enjoys getting pets, being brushed, and playing with her wand toy. She can be slightly shy at first, but her curious nature quickly gets the best of her. She has a frolicsome play style that is as silly as it is adorable. Because they are bonded, Sadie and Eloise must be adopted together.

While we're not completely sure about her prior family, we know that Sadie and her kittens were surrendered by their owner.

Sadie and Eloise are being fostered in a home with other cats and can live comfortably with multiple feline companions. We recommend no more than one or two calmer cats or even another kitten. Sadie does best with folks who enjoy her beauty and playful nature but can respect that it will take a little time and patience before she's sitting in your lap. Therefore, we anticipate she would do well in a home with older children (tweens or older).

Charlie (estimated DOB 7/11/2026) is a happy little guy with two things high on his priority list: good food and good fun! Mealtime is always exciting in Charlie’s world, and once his belly is full, he is ready to get right back to the important business of being a kitten.

He loves to play, explore, wrestle with his brother Jack, and investigate whatever happens to catch his attention. Whether it is a toy on the floor, something new to climb, or his brother starting a game, Charlie is usually ready to join in.

Charlie is one of Mamacita (Cita)’s two surviving babies, and after the difficult start this little family experienced, it is wonderful to see him simply getting to enjoy kittenhood—eating well, playing hard, growing stronger, and discovering the world around him.

He is still young and showing us more of his personality every day, but one thing is already very clear: Charlie is a fun-loving little guy who is very happy to be here and intends to enjoy every minute of it.
Now he just needs a forever home where the meals keep coming, the toys never run out, and there is always another adventure waiting around the corner.

Mamacita—affectionately known as **Cita**—has already lived quite a story. Rescued from the South Side of Chicago after giving birth outdoors, she experienced heartbreak when some of her kittens did not survive. But Cita stayed devoted to the two little ones who did: Charlie and Jack.

She has been an incredible mom from the start. Cita spends much of her time close to her babies, keeping watch, making sure they feel safe, and giving them the kind of comfort only a devoted mama can provide. She has a wonderfully nurturing side, but what makes her even more special is how much she loves people, too.

Cita is affectionate, loving, and happiest when she knows everyone around her is safe and settled. After everything she has been through, she can finally leave the hard part of her story behind. No more searching for shelter. No more trying to protect babies from the cold. No more Chicago winters outdoors.
Now it is Cita’s turn.

She is ready for a forever home where she can trade survival for soft blankets, warm windows, gentle hands, and the security of knowing she is finally home for good. This winter, Cita deserves to be exactly where she belongs—curled up indoors, loved beyond measure, with nothing left to worry about except finding the coziest spot in the house.

Nina is a sweet calico cat (estimated birthdate 10/20/2023) whose confidence and curiosity blossom once she feels safe in her environment. She is obsessed with her bumblebee wand toy and enjoys chasing toy mice, springs, and little balls. She also loves playing with backpacks! Ninas favorite napping spots are her dining chair, a cat perch/donut, and any available sunbeam on the floor. She loves looking out the window and observing all that is in her domain. Nina has come a long way with the patience of her foster family. She now loves head and chin scratches with her wand toy and will accept some hand pets, especially when she is relaxed and sleepy. She is a creature of routine. If a stranger walks in, shell dart to a favorite hiding spot before venturing back, each time a bit faster than the last.

Nina was rescued in conjunction with a TNR project.

Nina is a loving, playful girl who just needs a patient adopter willing to let her come out of her shell at her own pace. Once she does, the bond she will form with her humans is incredibly rewarding. Nina would do just fine in a home with other cats. She has not been exposed to dogs or children.

Garbanzo and his 3 siblings (Pinto, Pinky, and Wahoo,) were born 1/18/2026. This little guy is a darling all black sweetheart with a big personality and a keen sense of adventure. He loves people and is always eager to be a part of the action. Whether he is chasing a toy, exploring a new space, or turning everyday objects into exciting discoveries, Garbanzo brings endless energy and entertainment. When playtime is over, he will reward you with endless purrs and companionship.

Garbanzo and his siblings were found abandoned in a church parking lot and are true survivors.

Garbanzo can be adopted with one of his siblings or into a home with another young cat with whom to run and play. Like any young kitten, he will thrive in a home that can provide plenty of play, enrichment, and love.

Jack has figured out kitten life pretty quickly: eat, play, nap, repeat. And as far as he is concerned, that is a pretty fantastic way to spend a day!

This sweet little guy loves his meals and is always ready for playtime afterward. He enjoys romping around with his brother Charlie, chasing toys, exploring his surroundings, and finding new ways to turn just about anything into entertainment. He has that wonderful kitten curiosity where the smallest thing can suddenly become the most exciting discovery of the day.

Jack is one of Mamacita (Cita)’s two surviving kittens, and watching him grow into a playful, thriving little boy has been especially rewarding. After such a difficult beginning for their little family, Jack now gets to focus on exactly what he should be focusing on—growing, playing, eating, and having fun.

We are still getting to know all the little details that make Jack uniquely Jack, but so far he is proving to be a cheerful, playful kitten who takes his job of enjoying kittenhood very seriously.

Jack is ready for a forever family who will give him plenty of playtime, plenty of love, and—perhaps most importantly in his opinion—plenty to eat.

At bedtime, she'll happily join you, kneading away and purring like a tiny engine. Lily can be a little unsure when things change, so she'll need some patience and time to settle into her new surroundings. Once she feels comfortable, you'll discover just how loving and affectionate this special girl can be.
