**My Morkie Has Started Bringing Me My Shoes Every Time I Sit Down, and I Think I've Accidentally Hired the World's Pushiest Personal Trainer.** 😂🐶
I am currently standing in my living room wearing one slipper, holding a sneaker in my hand, while a tiny fluffy dog stares at me like I've disappointed him on a professional level.
And apparently, this is my life now.
Yesterday morning, I made the terrible mistake of telling my Havanese, “Good boy! Let's go for a walk!”
He went absolutely wild.
His little tail wagged so fast that his entire backside wiggled. He raced toward the front door, spun in three circles, and made a sound that was somewhere between a squeak and a tiny kettle boiling.
I laughed, grabbed his leash, and took him outside.
We had a wonderful walk.
He sniffed every mailbox, inspected several suspicious leaves, and greeted a neighbor as if they were long-lost family members.
When we returned home, I took off my shoes, sat on the couch, and relaxed.
Big mistake.
My Havanese had apparently decided that the phrase “Let's go for a walk” was no longer a suggestion.
It was a legally binding contract.

About twenty minutes later, I heard a strange little thump beside the couch.
I looked down.
My Havanese was standing there with one of my sneakers in his mouth.
His fluffy face was almost completely hidden behind the shoe.
He dropped it at my feet.
Then he looked up at me.
I laughed.
“Thank you, sweetheart. But we're not going anywhere right now.”
He wagged his tail.
I picked up the shoe and placed it beside the door.
He watched me carefully.
Then he trotted away.
I thought that was the end of it.
Thirty seconds later, he returned with my other sneaker.
He dropped it beside the first one.
Then he sat down proudly.
His expression said, “Excellent. I've prepared everything. We may depart.”
I explained that I was still drinking my coffee.
He blinked.
I took another sip.
He sighed.
A tiny, deeply disappointed sigh that made me feel like I'd canceled Christmas.

I tried to ignore him.
I really did.
I opened my laptop and started answering emails.
My Havanese disappeared into the hallway.
For a few peaceful minutes, the house was quiet.
Then I heard something dragging across the floor.
Scrrrrrape.
Scrrrrrape.
Scrrrrrape.
He came around the corner carrying one of my slippers.
He dropped it beside my chair.
I looked at him.
He looked at me.
“No walk yet, buddy.”
He picked up the slipper again and moved it closer to my feet.
I couldn't believe what I was witnessing.
This dog wasn't barking, whining, or throwing a tantrum.
He was running a very polite but extremely persistent transportation department.
Then he brought me a second slipper.
Then he went to the front door and sat beside his leash.
Every few seconds, he looked back at me to make sure I was paying attention.
My husband walked into the room, saw the growing collection of footwear around my chair, and burst out laughing.
“What is happening here?”
“Your dog thinks I'm late for an appointment.”
My husband crouched down.
“Do you want to go outside, little man?”
The Havanese immediately abandoned his entire shoe collection and ran to him, tail wagging furiously.
My husband laughed.
“See? He's asking nicely.”
I stared at him.
“He has delivered four separate pieces of footwear to my desk.”
My husband stopped laughing.
Then he slowly looked down at the shoes.
“Okay. That's actually impressive.”
# # # The Climax: Operation Human Relocation
My husband decided to test a theory.
He picked up the leash, walked toward the door, and jingled the metal clasp.
Our Morkie practically levitated.
He spun around, raced to the shoe pile, grabbed the nearest sneaker, and ran toward my husband.
The shoe was almost as big as his head.
He waddled across the room with it, his little legs moving at maximum speed.
Then he dropped it directly on my husband's foot.
My husband stepped into the sneaker.
The dog immediately ran back for the second one.
He delivered it.
My husband put it on.
Then our tiny supervisor trotted to the door, turned around, and stared at both of us.
He was ready.
We had no excuses left.
My husband looked at me.
I looked at the dog.
The dog wagged his tail.
And somehow, ten minutes later, we were both outside walking around the neighborhood because a fluffy little creature had successfully organized our entire morning.
The funniest part?
The moment we returned, he drank some water, climbed onto his favorite cushion, and fell asleep in less than thirty seconds.
My husband and I stood in the kitchen staring at each other.
“He's exhausted,” my husband whispered.
“From what?” I asked.
“He had to manage us.”
I had absolutely no response.
# # # The Aftermath
Today, I have learned several important lessons about living with a Havanese.
Never say the word “walk” unless you're prepared to follow through.
Never leave your shoes unattended.
And never underestimate a tiny dog with a strong opinion about how your day should be organized.
My Havanese now has a routine.
At breakfast, he brings me a slipper.
After lunch, he brings my husband a sneaker.
In the afternoon, he sits by the front door and watches us with the patience of a tiny furry life coach.
And if we happen to put on our shoes without taking him outside?
He follows us from room to room, carrying his leash like a very small employee who has just discovered that management is ignoring his emails.
But here's what gets me.
A few weeks ago, I was having one of those days when everything felt overwhelming. I sat quietly on the couch, staring at nothing in particular.
My little Havanese came over.
He didn't bring a shoe.
He didn't bring his leash.
He simply climbed into my lap, pressed his warm little body against me, and rested his chin on my arm.
He stayed there until I started smiling again.
That's the thing about these little dogs.
They can be playful, stubborn, funny, and ridiculously demanding when they want your attention.
But sometimes, they seem to know exactly when you need a little company.
And if that means being escorted outside for an unexpected walk because a tiny fluffy supervisor has decided you've been sitting too long, perhaps that's not such a terrible thing after all.
Tomorrow, I'm putting my shoes in the closet.
I'm fairly certain he'll find them anyway.
**Tell me honestly: Does your Havanese bring you toys, shoes, or random household objects when they want your attention—or have you managed to raise a tiny angel who actually respects your schedule?** 😂❤️🐾
