🐴 Project: The Dun C**t | Week One

One thing we’ve learned over the years is that a horse’s first response isn’t always the response that defines them.

This c**t came to us with an unknown background and an unknown skill level. Like every horse, he has a story—we just have to be patient enough to let him tell it.

The beginning of this session wasn’t about avoiding a reaction. It was about watching how he handled pressure and giving him the opportunity to search for a better answer.

One of the greatest lessons horses have taught us is this:

Horses don’t learn from pressure itself. They learn from the release of it.

The pressure encourages them to search.

The release tells them,
“Yes… that’s the answer.”

Watching a horse go from reacting to thinking is one of the most rewarding parts of horsemanship.

And today, The Dun C**t took his first steps in that direction.

(He’s still “The Dun C**t,” by the way. Around here, horses don’t keep the names they arrive with… they earn them. 😂)

We’re excited to see who he becomes—and eventually, what name he earns.

Thanks for riding with us. 🤎🐴

Well… we prayed for rain and thank You God for sending it!

Next time… maybe just a little slower? 😂🌧️

We probably should’ve been a little more specific.

In all seriousness, we’re thankful for every drop because this country needs the moisture. It just happened to arrive all at once!

Today brought a downpour that turned parts of the place into a pond almost faster than we could blink. The horses were moved, the dogs were relocated, and we spent the rest of the afternoon making sure everyone was safe.

We’re incredibly thankful for the moisture because we desperately need it. Sometimes God’s blessings just show up in ways we weren’t expecting!

Now it’s time to roll up our sleeves, clean up the mess, and be thankful we only have muddy boots instead of bigger problems.

Thanks for riding with us. 🤎🐴✝️

Welcome to Riding for God Horsemanship Services.

This page is more than a new name.

It’s a reflection of who we are.

For years, horses have been more than a profession for our family. They’ve taught us patience when we wanted quick answers, humility when we thought we had everything figured out, and perseverance when the road wasn’t easy.

Every challenge has reminded us that God is still shaping us just as much as we’re helping shape the horses in front of us.

Our mission isn’t simply to train horses.

It’s to serve people with honesty, build willing partners through thoughtful horsemanship, and honor God in the work He’s entrusted to our family.

You’ll see plenty of horses here.

You’ll see c**ts.

Farrier work.

Training tips.

The occasional wreck (because let’s be honest, horses keep us humble).

You’ll also see family.

Faith.

The lessons we learn along the way.

Whether you’re here to send a horse for training, follow our family’s journey, or simply enjoy life around horses, we’re grateful you’re here.

If our family’s journey resonates with you, we’d love to have you along for the ride.

Welcome to the Ride.
