Packing the ponchos!
Tomorrow, September 20, Rescue Village’s Woofstock is happening rain or shine.
Last Sunday (our traditional day) was gorgeous of course, but road work got in the way.
Tomorrow? Well, tomorrow looks like it may turn out to be one of the rainiest Woofstocks we’ve ever had.
Fortunately, most dogs have a slightly different relationship with rain than humans do. Some take one look outside and decide their paws simply cannot be subjected to such conditions. Plenty of others get outside, feel the rain and think: This is fantastic.
So that’s the spirit for tomorrow.
We’ve made some changes to keep Woofstock going in the rain. Dog games will be under tents. Lure courses will operate weather permitting. The beer garden will be open. Our vendors will be there. There will be plenty of food and covered places to sit, eat and get out of the rain.

And don’t let all this talk about dogs fool you: every dollar raised by Woofstock helps the animals at Rescue Village.
The cats are, naturally, quite smug about this arrangement. They don’t have to lift a paw.
So put on the raincoat. Bring the dog. Come on out.
Because years from now, this may be the Woofstock everybody claims they attended.
Tomorrow, we’ll know who was really there.
