We have some very sad news to announce with one of our beloved K9s passing away on August 24, 2026.

K9 Max served the city as a single purpose narcotics K9 from 2015 to 2021. During his years of service, K9 Max worked with the DEA, ATF, FBI, and Virginia State Police in numerous operations while being credited with the recovery of millions of dollars and mass quantities of illegal narcotics.

In his time off, K9 Max loved spending time relaxing with his family at home.

Please keep his handler and family in your thoughts and prayers.

You will be missed buddy.
RIP K9 Max ⚫️🔵⚫️🐺🌈🌉
