Tiny Paws Rescue

Tiny Paws Rescue Tiny Paws Rescue, a volunteer foster-based, small dog rescue serving NJ, Phila & surrounding areas

Tiny Paws Rescue is a volunteer foster-based, small-breed dog rescue dedicated to rescue and placement of small dogs into loving, permanent homes throughout Phila, Bucks, Chester, Montgomery & Delaware counties in PA as well as Central & Southern NJ

Countless small dogs in the region are left homeless every year through no fault of their own. Many are dumped at ACCT Philly (Animal Care and Contr

ol Team of Philadelphia) and other public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to overpopulation. Others are surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. Tiny Paws Rescue is committed to helping the neediest, as well as the readily adoptable, among our area’s most vulnerable creatures. Dogs in our care receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, including spay or neuter, and are placed in nurturing foster homes while they await adoption and placement in the loving, responsible, forever homes they deserve. Tiny Paws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue run entirely by dedicated volunteers and does not receive any public funding. We rely entirely on fundraising support and donations from private individuals and local companies/organizations who believe in our mission.

ADOPT BENJI!!

Benji’s a 3yo 15lb Yorkie/Chi mix. He’s dog, cat and kid friendly. He’s housebroken when kept on a schedule, will wear a belly band if needed and crate trained. He’d be good in a secure fenced in yard but does love going for harnessed leashed walks. He playful and loves to play fetch with small squeaky toys especially squeaky tennis balls. He’s cuddly and loves being with his people and He does get vocal/anxious when his people leave so would best in a home where that isn’t an issue to the neighbors.

Benji's foster requires a home, where someone is home often, so not to be left for long periods of time, along with leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far.

Benji as all dogs should have at least 2 weeks in their new home with just their people who live in the home and to not have people over for at least 2 weeks. Dogs need time to settle in and adjust to their new people and environment first so they can learn to trust them first.

Benji is neutered, vaccinated, hw negative and microchipped. Currently in Morrisville, PA. If your home meets the needed requirements and you’re interested in applying to adopt please do so at www.tprescue.org

ADOPT AMELIA!!!

Amelia’s a 7yo 29lbs (is on a diet and losing) JRT/ACD mix. She’s dog and kid 13+ friendly. She’s housebroken and great when left home alone. She loves to play, but her breed has a high prey drive so she is best with dogs over 20lbs and NO cats. She loves her fosters secure fenced in yard to run and play. She needs work on harness leashed walks since she will pull. She needs slow introductions to new people and environments so she can warm up. Once she does warm up and trusts her people she loves to be near then to cuddle, give kisses and get pets. She is a Cattle dog and a Jack Russell -2 very smart breeds. Cattle dogs are cautious by nature. It takes her a bit to trust you. She needs an authoritative leader and she is quick to learn.

Amelia’s foster requires a home with no cats and if dogs over 20lbs, patient people who will allow time to get used to a new environment to feel safe and secure along with leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training with a trainer. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. KISHA!!! 💗💗💗
Kisha is still in need of your help so we can pay her medical bills which as of now are close to $5000.00.

UPDATE 4…
KISHA IS OUT & RECUPERATING!!!
Kisha was released from care on Wednesday evening and we were cautious about posting since at that time she still wasn’t eating and would have to go back in, if her appetite did not improve! Luckily by Thursday night, her foster was able to get her to eat some cooked veggies and chik-fil-a! She still needs plenty of rest, antibiotics, pain meds, anti nausea meds but she’s FINALLY showing marked improvements! Thank you to those who donated and continue to donate towards her medical bills! We ALMOST LOST this girl, but I’m so happy she’s a frisky little fighter!

UPDATE 3…
Kisha is still recieving IV fluids, meds and supplementation to try to get her electrolytes and kidneys back to good! She’s not been eating since surgery and was started on Entyce today to increase her appetite. She is showing her some displeasure with her treatment but tolerating it! Kisha is a little more active today but still very sick! We are hoping she will turn the corner tomorrow! Please continue to pray/send the good vibes her way.
Saving this little girl comes with high vet bills and we need your help! Please consider donating if you haven’t already! Thank you!

Donation options are at the end of the post!

UPDATE 2…
Things were not looking good for our TINY Kisha this morning! It was touch and go all morning and into the afternoon. But then suddenly, prayers were answered when Kisha sat up, and even lifted her lip and show a few teeth at the staff.. a good sign! But she is still very sick, critical condition in fact. She’s receiving one on one care with a vet nurse and being very closely monitored. Her kidney values are not turning around yet and her electrolytes are way off today. She’s receiving continuous fluids, IV meds and supplement and we hope to have a better update! Please keep the prayers and donations coming for this sweet girl! More photos added below!

UPDATE 1…
Well TINY Kisha made it through surgery BUT as it turns out… this was not a normal pyometra (infected uterus)! Surgeon was surprised to find a HUGE INFECTED MASS inside one horn of the uterus! Below is a picture taken by the surgeon (warning graphic) and a diagram to better explain! This little girl is not out of the woods yet! Seems her left kidney has sustained trauma from the pressure of the mass. She is still in renal failure and we are hoping getting this mass out and running fluids will help bring her kidneys back to normal! Her body temp is extremely low right now and they are trying to get her to warm up.

Please keep the prayers and good vibes coming for Kisha!

Donations needed for her care, please share!

Today we took in a very very sick TINY girl!

Kisha was surrendered by her family of 7 years when she became sick. The family thought it was maybe a UTI, but sadly, it was far worse than that! As you can imagine, Kisha is scared, confused and feeling terrible.

Once at ACCT Philly, labs were drawn and X-rays were done, revealing a massive sized infection filled uterus (closed pyometra), white cells high, indicating a raging infection and kidney values so high, they were literally off the charts! She was immediately started on IV fluids and an IV antibiotic.

We rushed to pick her up and took her straight to Epic Vet Urgent Care. Kisha will be having more preop fluids, then emergency surgery to remove that infected uterus tonight! Assuming all goes well, she will continue to receive IV fluids in an attempt to get her kidneys working again!

Kisha needs prayers and we need donations to help her! Two things we do know..

Kisha deserves a chance and YOU, our supporters, never let us down! Please share and consider donating towards lifesaving surgery.
