🏆🐾 Ravenpaw Creature Care is a 2026 Nextdoor Neighborhood Fave! ❤️

In September, we learned that we had been nominated for a Neighborhood Fave Award on Nextdoor. While we don't know who nominated us, just knowing that someone thought enough of our business to do so was huge, especially as a small business. However, finding out that we actually WON brought a whole new level of excitement!

When I received the news, I literally teared up. ❤️

When I got back into pet care a few years ago, my goal was to provide quality, dependable, and knowledgeable care where the animals ALWAYS come first. To receive this recognition just a little over two years after taking Ravenpaw full-time is honestly incredible. Winning this award means that the values we've worked so hard to build our business around are being reflected in the care we provide every day, and most importantly, our clients are noticing!

As we've grown, it has never been about growing as quickly as possible. It has always been about building a team of people who share the same passion, compassion, and dedication to the animals entrusted to us. Every client and every animal matters, from that very first conversation to every visit that follows.

I am forever grateful for the team we've built. We wouldn't be where we are today without a group of people who genuinely care about what they do and understand that the animals always come first.

You welcome us into your homes and trust us with members of your family, and that is something we will never take lightly. Yes, cats need nail trims too! 🐱🐾

Regular nail trims have several benefits for both cats AND their humans!

🐾 Helps prevent scratches to your furniture — and your skin!
🐾 Overgrown nails can begin to curl and eventually grow into the paw pad, causing painful wounds and potentially infection.
🐾 As cats age, their nails can become especially thick and overgrown, making them more likely to crack, split, or become painful.
🐾 Long nails can even affect the way they walk and put extra stress on their joints.

We also know that a lot of cats absolutely HATE car rides and trips to the vet. 🏥 That's why we offer in-home cat(plus dog and rabbit) nail trims! We come to them, eliminating the extra stress of having to load them up and take them somewhere just for a nail trim.

🐾🇺🇸 THE ANIMAL HEROES OF 9/11 🇺🇸🐾

When we remember the heroes of September 11, we can't forget the ones with four legs. ❤️

Roughly 300 search-and-rescue dogs were deployed following the attacks, with additional working, detection, guide and therapy dogs playing important roles.

Some of the incredible dogs who served included:

🐾 Bretagne — Golden Retriever
🐾 Riley — Golden Retriever
🐾 Trakr — German Shepherd
🐾 Apollo — German Shepherd
🐾 Ricky — Rat Terrier
🐾 Sage — Border Collie
🦮 Roselle — Yellow Labrador Retriever
🦮 Salty — Labrador Retriever

And behind these dogs was an incredible team of handlers, veterinarians, vet techs and volunteers who kept them hydrated, treated their paws and injuries, monitored their health and helped them recover between shifts. ❤️

Their work didn't stop there. Animal rescue teams also helped hundreds of pets left behind in apartments when residents of Lower Manhattan were evacuated—providing food, water, veterinary care and helping reunite animals with their families. 🐕🐈

Search dogs. Service dogs. Therapy dogs. Veterinary teams. Animal rescuers.

Different jobs, but one incredible example of the bond between people and animals. 🐾❤️

Today we remember all the heroes of 9/11—including the ones with paws and the people who cared for them.

It’s time to officially introduce someone who has been helping keep things running behind the scenes — welcome Ryn!

Ryn has actually been with us for a while now, helping with many of the administrative tasks that go into keeping Ravenpaw Creature Care running smoothly. During her time with us, she has proven to be an amazing asset to our team!

She helps with scheduling, invoicing, and many of the other behind-the-scenes tasks that keep us organized. There are still parts of the business she is learning — because there are A LOT of moving parts! — and we want to make sure everything is as seamless as possible for our clients.

We are incredibly grateful for Ryn’s dedication and hard work. She genuinely loves helping others and is always ready to tackle whatever I (Annabel) might throw her way.

Outside of Ravenpaw, Ryn is a busy mom of two kiddos whom she homeschools, and she has two dogs she absolutely adores. When she manages to find a little spare time for herself, you’ll probably find her with a book in her hands. 📚

Fun fact: Ryn read an incredible 89 books in 2025! 😮

How do you have a bad day when this is how your client's greet you? We are very grateful that we get to walk dog's full time for so many reasons, this is 1 of them. We get that "oh you are here, we are so excited to see you!" reaction from dog's and nothing else in the world matters.

One of the most rewarding parts of what we do is receiving kind texts, emails, and messages from our clients. Every message reminds us that we're in the right field and that we're truly making a difference in the lives of both pets and their people. Those words mean more to us than you know. ❤️

The only downside is that those wonderful messages are only seen by us.

We have a few housekeeping items to bring to your attention!

1. We have updated our business number to 423-260-6800. Going forward, please direct all inquiries and text messages to this number.

2. As we continue to grow, it is important for us to take time to recharge. Going forward, responses on weekends will be limited unless your pet is currently under our care. Please keep in mind that responses may still take some time, as our team is often out caring for pets and want to give each one our full attention.

We want to thank everyone for your continued support and for trusting us with your fur babies. We are so grateful for the opportunity to love and care for them each day.

🐾 One last thing—swipe to the final photo to meet Hubert! Hubert is a 5-year-old kitty currently in foster care through Rad Cat , a Georgia non profit rescue. He is wonderful with cats, dogs, and kids and is an overall playful, affectionate boy looking for his forever home.

Hubert is diabetic and requires insulin injections twice a day, but he makes it incredibly easy. He takes his shots like a champ and doesn’t let his diagnosis slow him down one bit!
