Snowy

Snowy was neglected and abused before being adopted from an animal shelter. www.masonbayfarm.com Snowy was seized by Animal Control in August of 2013.

When she was impounded at the shelter she had a body score of 1!! She had been living in a very small enclosure with an aggressive stallion and a goat with a broken leg. The owners wanted the horses to breed. She was too thin to conceive, thank goodness. The stallion but was in better weight and was seized along with the goat. The shelter had to keep her as evidence for a few months and she succes

sfully gained weight but was unfit and afraid. She knew how to lead but it was difficult to catch her and she is still very defensive about being touched below the knee. She definitely had been abused as well as neglected. Maybe they hobbled her or tied her legs with ropes...

When I walked over to her stall at the shelter and she finally reached out to touch my hand, she broke my heart. The people at the shelter were crying when she left. Not many of those shelter horses get adopted. The former owner plead guilty to three charges of cruelty and is no longer allowed to have animals. The stallion was gelded and he and the goat both found homes as well :)

Snowy continues to evolve and is a beloved member of the family. Her fiercely beautiful spirit is a daily source of inspiration. Thanks for your interest! Kathy Eskritt

Devastated

Snowy passed away on December 7. She became cast in her stall and colicked. She was treated by a very kind vet but after a fairly peaceful night, she quickly collapsed and died. It appears that her heart gave out. We will never know exactly what happened to her.

I miss her immeasurably and my heart aches.

Thank you for all the joy you provided, Snowy. You were a blessing each and every day.

Snowy would like to help find Lulu a home!!

Visited the shelter and Lulu stood out like a ray of sunshine! She came bounding to the end of her kennel with her ball, wanting to play. Sweet and quiet, she sat while we talked.

Lulu is a 5 yr old American Staffordshire Terrier. She was an owner surrender and has been at the shelter since August. Has definitely been a mama in the past.

Please help Lulu find a home!
