A Labor of love for an elderly friend. We made these for our elderly friend and neighbor, Jack, who passed away earlier this year, and now some people are ‘Flipping’ the house. These are removed and replaced. We miss walking by Jack’s house and seeing these shutters he wanted in memory of his wife.

I wonder where these ended up. ❤️

Portrait of the finest friend I have ever known. Sisu, chutzpah, elan; 16 or so years ago he coupled all of this to garner his way into a home. Rough around the edges and wizened by circumstance he became part of an indelible family vision. Now aging and slowed he had become so dignified and brave, bringing love and joy to his family in ways none of us knew existed.
