We’ve had to make the difficult decision to step back from seeing all emergencies and only be on-call for our established clients. This was not an easy decision to come to, but it was absolutely necessary due to the shear volume of calls we receive on a daily basis. We would love to be able to get to everyone, but Dr. West is just one guy and he can’t be everywhere all at once.  I wish I could tell you that there are so many other options, but I think we all are aware that veterinary medicine is experiencing a shortage of livestock vets, especially those offering after-hours calls. We will help everyone to the best of our ability, but for now, we have to draw a hard line of what we are physically able to do. Providing adequate, affordable care is most important to us and we just can’t do that if we are constantly on the go between calls from 6 AM to midnight or longer.
