Today’s slogan: TNR isn’t a job—it’s a mindset. 🐾

Because with TNR, you truly never know what you’re going to find.

Young cat. Old cat. Used cat. Abused cat. Sweet cat. Spicy cat. Worms. Fleas. Wounds. Sickness. Dumped cats. Fixed cats. The list goes on…

But every single one finds a little place in our heart.

They all have a story we’ll probably never know. But for a brief moment, we get to be part of their next chapter.

That little stretch of time when they feel love. Hope. Safety. A full belly. A gentle touch. Someone caring enough to help.

They feel it. You feel it.

And then, just like that, it’s time to release them. The moment is quick, and it passes—but you carry it with you.

And we like to think they carry a little bit of it with them, too. ❤️

Some of our favorite days are TNR days.
Saving lives. Changing futures. Making a difference—one cat at a time.

TNR isn’t just something we do. It’s who we are.

Grant Day for TNR!!! 🐾❤️

Giving With Grace Foundation grants were put to work at Piedmont Animal Rescue - PAR today, helping us TNR 30+ cats, with a few dogs and owned kitties thrown into the mix!

This is what community looks like—grants, rescuers, trappers, owners, volunteers, and a whole lot of people saying YES to spay and neuter! 🙌

Less reproducing, more saving. More healthy, happy communities.

Way to GO, village!!! 🐱🐶❤️

We’re going to piggyback off the Rowan Neuter Scooter post about the WHOLE VILLAGE today! 🐾

It was cats GALORE from all the neighboring towns (Tabby Trail Friendlies, Sunkissed Acres NC, Bella Vita Animal Rescue, Three Brothers Animal Rescue), and our friends from Rowan County Animal Shelter are back — and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have them! ❤️

It was a 1-shy-of-50 kind of day… because apparently 50 was just too round and predictable. 😂 49 fabulous felines fixed and fancy free!

*** post edited to add 3 rabies vaccines given to previous patients and 1 incision recheck healing beautifully! 53 total animals served today.

Hump Day indeed! 🍑🐈‍⬛✂️

Big thanks to everyone who keeps showing up, trapping, transporting, volunteering and making this whole crazy mission happen. The village is STRONG! 💪🐾

We're almost full! But we can take some applications for the waiting list for the Sept. 3 SNAP Mobile spay/neuter clinic.

Community Pets Mobile Veterinary Clinic is coming to Wilkes on Thursday, Sept. 3.

🐱 Low-income Wilkes County, NC, residents only
🐱 Friendly pets (not feral)
🐱 See limits on age, weight and breed types

Requirements:
• Friendly and healthy, owned cats under 6 years, no smushy-faced cat breeds please.
• Kittens must be a min of 12 wks & weigh 3-3.5 lbs.
• Rowan County Animal Shelter vouchers ARE accepted for adopted shelter cats. Voucher applies to surgery only - all other fees are due.
• Cats must come in CLEAN secure, hard-sided carriers ONLY (absolutely NO wire crates, fabric, mesh, back-pack, stroller, or bubble carriers, or cardboard boxes).
• One cat per carrier for safety & recovery.
• No unsocialized "spicy" cats accepted on this date.
• Limit 3 cats per family.

Surgery Costs:
• Cat Spay: $85 | Cat Neuter: $70
• Additional services are available at added cost

You must complete the form AND send your payment in order to secure your spot. PayPal is the only accepted method of payment. You can always ask a friend or family member to send payment for you if you don't have PayPal.

Well, Humane Society of Wilkes came in HARD on a Monday — with dogs and cats galore! 🐶🐱

But man, did we FEEL the difference being made as the day went on. ❤️

From the first patient to the last, it was smiles all around from our staff and volunteers… and maybe even a few of the animals were smiling too. 😉

Every spay, every neuter, every vaccine = one more little life healthier, happier, and helping us chip away at the overpopulation problem.

Big things are happening in Wilkes! And we are pretty dang proud to be part of it. 🐾💪

Monday? Handled. ✔️

🎉 50 for 50 was nothing short of a CELEBRATION! 🎉

If you know Maureen Lett, you know she has one of the biggest hearts for animal welfare you’ll ever encounter. ❤️🐾

Now add spay + neuter to that giant heart and you’ve got an absolutely UNSTOPPABLE HUMAN. 🙌

For her big 50th birthday month, Maureen chose to celebrate in the best way possible—by giving back. She coordinated a clinic at Friends of Anson County Animal Shelter and used a grant from Giving With Grace Foundation to help us fix 50 fabulous felines! 🐱✂️💥

And we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate 50 than by creating 50 fewer litters, healthier cats, and a whole lot less kitten math. 😂

We are SO grateful we got to be part of this special milestone and celebrate not just Maureen’s birthday, but the incredible impact she makes every single day in her little corner of North Carolina.

She is proof that one person with a huge heart, a little determination, and a serious commitment to animal welfare can make a GIANT difference. 🐾❤️

And if you don’t know Maureen…

You need to make it your life’s mission to meet her. Seriously. We’re not kidding. 😉
