OUR PROCESS
Lucky Labs get most of their dogs from local high kill shelters in North and South Carolina. We rescue many just a day before they are to be euthanized. We have volunteers that work daily with local shelters to learn of new dogs that are surrendered. When Lucky Labs Rescue brings a lucky lab into our rescue, each one is immediately vetted for vaccines, spayed or neutered, tested for heartworms, and wormed for intestinal parasites. The dogs are temperament tested and are put onto our foster program while they await their furever homes. Once someone sees a lab they are interested in and an application has been completed, Lucky Labs Rescue does a phone interview, checks the vet reference that is provided by the prospective adopter, and then we do a home visit. The home visit is very important. This is a great time to discuss nutritional needs, housebreaking, etc. with the adoptive family to see if they have any questions. We require each of our dogs to be kept inside at night, no exceptions. We make sure the family understands that any pet has to be treated as "a member of the family". We encourage families to participate in obedience classes if necessary. Lastly, we discuss the exercise options for the dog. Labs are energetic dogs that need proper exercise. DONATIONS
Lucky Labs Rescue spends an AVERAGE of $600 per dog that we rescue. Our adoption fee is only $350 per dog, so we survive on your generous donations! Additionally, we also accept donations of food, crates, collars, leashes, etc. CONTACT INFO

Adopter for Maya still needed! 🙏

Meet Maya! 🐾

Maya is a 1-year-old, 40 lb bundle of LOVE who would happily spend her days right next to her people. She’s playful, energetic, extremely smart, funny, and easy to train — and cuddling is one of her favorite activities!

Maya walks well on a leash and already knows some commands. She also plays great with other dogs, but she’s learned that when other dogs are around, she needs to protect her food and water. Maya was surrendered to the shelter with several other dogs, and we suspect she had to compete for resources and didn’t always have enough to go around.

Because of this, Maya would be happiest as the only dog in her home, where she won’t feel like she has to worry about protecting her resources. She can absolutely still enjoy play dates with other dogs and casual doggy encounters outside the home!

If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate, playful pup who wants nothing more than to be close to her people, Maya may be your girl. ❤️

📍Maya is located in Charlotte, NC

PUPPY ALERT! 🐾 Foster and/or adopter needed!

Delilah is a VERY active puppy looking for a foster or adopter who is ready for everything that comes with puppy life. She is smart, eager to learn, and has already made great progress with potty training, basic commands, and polite door manners.

True to her age, Delilah loves to PLAY, play, play! She gets along great with both dogs and cats, although her endless puppy energy can test the patience of more laid-back animals. 😂

Delilah would thrive in an active home with someone who can match her enthusiasm, give her plenty of attention and playtime, and keep her engaged. She has all the makings of an incredible companion, but she needs a family who is prepared to put in the time and work to help shape her into the wonderful family member she can become.

Delilah’s previous owner made the difficult decision to surrender her because they could no longer provide the full, continuous attention and high-volume playtime that such an active puppy deserves.

The more active the environment, the happier Delilah will be! ❤️

Delilah’s mom is a Black Lab and her dad is a super mutt.

📍Delilah is located in Charlotte, NC

ADOPTION PENDING!!
UPDATE: We received SO many applications for Luci and we are pleased to share that she is in a foster to adopt home! We did our best to respond to all applicants, but apologize if anyones was missed. We are so happy for this wonderful girl!

🚨 FOSTER OR ADOPTER URGENTLY NEEDED! 🚨

Meet beautiful Luci! ❤️🐾

This precious 11-month-old, 55-pound Dudley Lab is SO scared in boarding and we really want to get her into a home ASAP. It’s the first time she’s ever been somewhere so loud and unfamiliar, and she’s missing the comforts of home. 💔

Luci is a sweet, loving, energetic girl who is a typical Lab at heart. She loves:
🐾 Playing fetch
💦 The water
❤️ Cuddling with her people
🐕 Playing with other dogs

Luci would absolutely love another playful dog in her forever home, along with a fenced yard and someone who is home often. She is great with people of all ages and loves being with her humans.

She needs some basic training, but she is very smart and extremely treat motivated. With a little patience and consistency, we know this girl is going to make an amazing addition to her family. 🥰

Most importantly, Luci needs to get out of boarding urgently. She deserves a quiet, loving home where she can feel safe and be the happy puppy she is meant to be.

📍Luci is located in Charlotte, NC.

🚨FOSTER SECURED! 🚨

Meet Clark! ❤️🐾

Clark is a fun-loving, playful 1-year-old boy who loves being outside, playing fetch, and exploring the yard. He adjusts incredibly quickly to new environments and is always ready for his next adventure!

Here’s what we love about Clark:
🐾 Fully house-trained — he has never had an accident in the house
🐾 Does wonderfully in his crate, even for longer periods
🐾 LOVES car rides and is happiest with his head out the window
🐾 Enjoys looking out the windows, playing with his toys, and being wherever his people are
🐾 Eager, curious, and full of personality

Clark would love a home with another playful dog who can give him a fun companion. He is still working on his doggy manners and would benefit from a family who is committed to working with him so he can be the very best dog.

A few things Clark is learning:
❤️ Keeping all four paws on the floor when greeting guests
❤️ Walking nicely on leash — he pulls, but a Gentle Leader helps a lot!

Clark would thrive with an active family who can give him plenty of exercise, playtime, attention, and continued training. He must have a fenced yard. In return, you’ll get a playful, affectionate young dog who is ready to bring plenty of fun into your life! 🥰

📍Clark is located in Charlotte, NC.

🚨 FOSTER SECURED!!

Meet AWESOME Midnight! ❤️🐾

Midnight is a sweet 6-year-old boy who ended up at a South Carolina shelter, hoping his owner would come for him. Sadly, after waiting nearly 60 days, no one ever came to reclaim him. 💔

Midnight is also about 15 pounds underweight, but despite everything he’s been through, he has the sweetest, most humble heart. He was recently brought into a home where he met three Labs and immediately acted like they were old friends! He is currently with three other dogs and doing great.

We truly can’t say enough great things about this boy. ❤️

Midnight urgently needs a foster home by Wednesday. He deserves the chance to leave the shelter behind and finally have a safe, loving place to land.

📍Midnight is located in Charlotte, NC.

🍀 If you are interested in FOSTERING Midnight, please email [email protected].

🍀 If you are interested in ADOPTING Midnight, please email a completed copy of our application (found in our bio) to [email protected] and [email protected], and specify in the subject line that you are interested in Midnight.

Thank you for your support and prayers.. Kelly continues to get a little better each day. She started eating on her own a couple of days ago. Not a lot, but we are very happy with this progress! Then yesterday she decided that she would like to play a bit….see the video of her “fletching” in Kelly style 🥰

UPDATE COMING SOON !!

Some of you may have seen the older choc lab girl we got out of a shelter on Friday. The shelter was holding her for us, but they let us know she had become very sick. They were working hard to treat her but limited weekend medical help for her worried them. We decided we had to do what we could to give her the best chance possible. They helped us get her to an Emergency vet and Kelly had to stay at the vet because she had, and still has pneumonia. The vets felt that the shelter was correct in their assessment that she would not have survived without the medical care she was able to get.

During this time we had no idea where we could place her once released from the hospital. An Angela angel stepped up to be her temporary foster home. Kelly is still very sick, but she is now drinking on her own and eating a little. She does not like her meds, but is so sweet that we are able to get them in her…. Barely!

She is now going out to potty, exploring the house, sleeping on her fuzzy dog bed…and spending her nights cuddled up with Angela on her bed. 🥰

Thank you for your past prayers…keep them coming. Thank you to everyone that helped us get her into this better situation…it takes a village.
