Courteous Canine employs positive, reward-based training methods. Our focus is to teach the pup the desired behavior in a given situation, and then reward generously, rather than to focus on correcting “wrong” behavior. By learning how to manage reinforcements in your dog’s life, you help teach your dog to offer certain behaviors in pursuit of rewards and privileges. Your trained dog will be a pleasure to have around and will enjoy a stronger bond with your family. In-Home Training
Training takes place primarily in your home, at your convenience. This allows your dog (and you) to feel secure and calm in a familiar environment, and saves you time. Plus, it helps us address directly behaviors that are happening specifically in your home or with your family members. Starting Early—Puppy Training
Courteous Canine can give valuable advice on choosing the right breed for you and your family, preparing the home for pup’s arrival, and how/when to start socializing and training your new family member. Early education is best!! We believe in teaching appropriate behaviors at a very young age when possible, before inappropriate ones become habit. Practicing what we preach! 🐾

One of the things we’re intentional about with our puppy is taking varied walks in different places—new locations, new opportunities for exploration, novel smells, different sights and sounds, and a whole new variety of distractions.

It’s so easy to fall into the habit of walking the same neighborhood every day, maybe even following the exact same route. While those familiar walks certainly have value, if every walk is the same, our puppies have fewer opportunities to experience the world.

For puppies, new experiences are learning opportunities! 🌎

So mix it up. Explore a different neighborhood, visit a quiet park, walk around a shopping center, find a new trail, or simply take a different route. Let your puppy sniff, observe, and take it all in at their own pace.

Because when it comes to raising confident, adaptable dogs, the world is their classroom—and every walk can be a field trip!👏🏼😎

There are some enrichment products that really pull their weight, and this is one of them! From brand new puppy (Timber is obsessed) to senior dogs, all seem to love the Pupsicle. Strongly recommend that you buy the little tray and make the inserts yourself, it takes seconds, saves you a bundle, and you get to control ingredients 🙌🏼
