West Bay Retrievers We are a Retriever Training Kennel with an emphasis on young trial dogs and high end gun dogs.

West Bay Retrievers is primarily a retriever training kennel with an emphasis on young trial dogs and high end gun dogs. Our goal is to produce well conditioned and well rounded dogs that are prepared for their future, whether training for All Age Stakes or hunting every day of the waterfowl season. While your dog is with us, we strive to care for them just as we would want our own personal dogs t

o be cared for. West Bay Retrievers is located adjacent to our home on 35 acres of land in northern Stanly County, NC. We also have access to thousands of acres in the area with various types of terrain cover and water. Additionally, we travel to other areas to train one or two days each week to ensure that your dog is exposed to as many different scenarios as possible. Our kennel has 29 seperate runs, all of which are heated, along with adequate ventilation for the warmer months. We also have two spacious exercise/airing yards connected to the kennel. We work very hard to provide your dog with a clean and sanitary environment while they are with us.

We ran the Tall Pines Retriever Club trial this past weekend in Cairo, Georgia.
Sharkey, owned by Charles Bearden, won the Derby. This makes two wins in a row, in his first two derbies. In the Qualifying, Reba, owned by Lyle Norwood, took fourth place while June, also owned by Lyle Norwood, earned a JAM. Thanks to the land owners, judges, and club members who worked to host this trial.

We ran the Ohio Valley Retriever Club trial this past weekend. Sharky, owned by Charles Bearden, ran his first Derby and won. Reba and June, both owned by Lyle Norwood, ran their first Qualifying where Reba earned the reserve JAM and June earned a JAM. In the open, Steff and Briar, both owned by Hank Culp, each earned a JAM.
