Professional aviculturist, NC breeders of quality hand fed baby african grey parrots for sale, yellow naped amazon parrots, blue fronted amazon parrots for sale, double yellow head amazons, umbrella cockatoos, blue gold macaws, We have been one of the most dedicated responsible breeding facilties for over 30 years. We started our business in the late 70s and early 80s as import quarantine liquidat

ors, As time went on we started the breeding operation to supply babies to the trade. As our collection grew so did the knowledge needed to properly house, feed and maintain these birds. At one time we had in our collection upwards of 300 pair of breeding birds at the compound, all large species. We very quickly learned that conures and others were not what we wanted to breed and or keep. We focused on companion species that we thought made good household pets. We also incorporated a large amount of buildings to our own research on nutrition, breeding, advanced handfeeding techniques, advanced incubation procedures, mutation studies, rare species studies. With these programs in place and our resources we quickly became one of the most successful facilities in the USA. Our main focus was and still is, education to the bird owners and breeders about responsible ownership and to the breeders responsible breeding. We focus only on real species, we do not condone the breeding of or breed hybrids of any type for any reasons. As there is absolutely no logical reason for this practice of bloodline pollution. As real professional aviculturists we must try to promote the ownership of, the breeding of only pure species. There is no bird that is as beautiful as the god given species one sees flying overhead and in the jungles and in the natural ranges around the world. Royal Bird Company is dedicated to the responsible ownership and breeding of these wonderful creatures.

Lunch Time for our Breeding farm here at Royal Bird Company, Avicultural Research Breeding Center. This is one of the mixtures for all our 300+ breeders and any babies weaning. Our diets focus on low fat and high proteins during the breeding seasons, We DO NOT feed such dangerous and stupid things like boiled and cooked eggs and meats, that is absolutely stupid and dangerous. In the past many people, including us did this to offer a diet addition change other than just seeds, that was the dark ages and in this day of nutritional understanding there is no reasoning for this, its a time bomb just waiting. we hear so many stories of people that have lost their birds to this and they all say the same thing, We have fed eggs and meat for years and it never hurt them until now, well it only takes one time. Can you say SALMONELLA? why take such a chance.
WE do feed a low fat type mixture to most all birds however some birds such as greys and macaws get a more higher fat content food additions during the day such as whole seeds and a very wide variety of nuts for macaws. Hyacinths get fresh coconut and extra nuts, they need a slightly different diet for good health long term. All birds, breeders and babies get tropican granules and tropi mix , this stays in front of them all day, we pull all wet cooked mixtures after a hour or so, in hot weather we will remove earlier.. In this mixture today we have cooked beets, cooked beans and lentils12 different types, soaked and cooked corn, brown rice, steamed carrots, sweet potato, and the carrot tops, beet stems and tops, cucumber diced up small cubes, diced apples. As we cook the beans, we add the whole beet roots to the cooking bean pot for about 15 minutes, after the water starts turning purple from the beet juice we remove the whole beets , turn off the beans and let them soak up the high nuturient beet juice, we dice the beets into small cubes, we add the steamed rice, beans and lentils, all the fresh diced stuff, cucumber, carrots ,beet tops carrot tops and apples. everything will be purplelish, they love it. This is just one the mixtures our birds get here, what did your birds eat today? What have you eaten today? Nutrition starts with you, the responsible bird owner, when people tell us that they cannot get their birds to eat correct or will not eat new things, we just cannot understand this, Parrots will adapt to any diet if the human will take the time to feed it correctly and train the birds to eat what you give them, We have purchased birds that are adult, been breeders for another person for many years eating only certain foods and we were told that these birds just would only eat certain foods, WELL, within a very very short time, maybe a week , we have them eating our diets.Do not give up, keep trying.

New hatches-5 day old baby double yellow head amazons(oratrix). We use a color coding system of matching hard records and marking each baby with a different non toxic marker color to ID that bird. At the height of the breeding season we may be feeding upwards of 40 babies that may be less than 7 days old and the color code system works great. Since we incubator hatch and handfeed from the very first day of life, we must keep up with each baby from day one and know what species, date of hatch, which pair that laid the egg, hourly feeding records, etc. The color code system works very well.
