Build a Better Butters: The Sequel 🐾
Poor Butters has been going through a bit of a rough patch lately. As dogs grow and change, they sometimes start testing boundaries again, and Butters decided barking at things on walks sounded like a great idea.
Luckily for Butters, he completed a board-and-train with us. And when you do a board-and-train with The Perfect Pup, you're stuck with us for life.
Mom reached out because she needed a little confidence boost handling Butters on walks, so we headed out for a refresher session. The good news? We could tell right away she'd been putting in the work. Butters' obedience was still solid. His commands were there. His understanding was there.
His mind, however, needed a little strengthening.
We worked with Mom on adjusting her training sessions and handling style so she could better help Butters through this stage of life. Sometimes success isn't about teaching new commands—it's about changing how we apply the training we already have.
The Build a Better Butters series continues as we help this handsome guy work through his latest life hurdle. And the best part? We'll be seeing more of Butters and Mom at our pack walks and Dog Social Club events in Charlotte, where they'll keep building confidence, skills, and neutrality together.
We're proud of both of them. Progress isn't always a straight line, but that's exactly why we're here. 💙🐶

🐾🚨 **Update on Ranger!** 🚨🐾

After our drawing, we contacted our selected winner; however, she was unfortunately unable to accept Ranger at this time.

We then reviewed our other approved applications and attempted to conduct a redraw, but we had difficulty reaching several potential adopters. To ensure Ranger finds the best possible home, we have decided to **reopen applications**.

📅 **Applications will remain open until July 15th**, and we will conduct a new drawing on that date as originally planned.

🎓 Bowser is graduating today after three weeks of board-and-train! 🎓
Bow wow wowzer and his famous happy howler are headed home!
Bowser is a handsome husky who was adopted from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Animal Care & Control. When he arrived, he struggled with settling in public and had some leash reactivity around other dogs. Over the last three weeks, he's worked hard on building neutrality, impulse control, and learning how to relax and enjoy the world around him.
Now, Bowser is a whole new dog! He's learned how to settle in public, navigate distractions more successfully, and be the best version of himself. We're so proud of the progress he's made and the effort his family has put into his success.
We're going to miss that happy howler around here, but we're excited to watch him continue to thrive at home. We hope we'll still get to see Bowser at Pack Walks and Dog Social Club—two of his favorite activities!
Congratulations, Bowser! Go show the world what a good boy you are. ❤️🐺🎉

Dash did amazing at his go-home session!
Now comes the most important part of any board-and-train program: the transition home. Dash's family is learning who the new Dash is and how to maintain all the skills he's worked so hard to develop during his training.
We'll be heading back out in a few weeks for follow-up training, but our support doesn't stop there. We'll also be providing videos, written instructions, and ongoing guidance to help make sure Dash continues to succeed at home.
Board-and-train success isn't just about what happens while the dog is with us—it's about making sure families have the tools and confidence to keep that progress going. We're proud of how far Dash has come and excited to watch him keep thriving with his family.
