I'm a 🐥🐑🐇🪶🌷🌱🥦🌽 homesteader, not a 💅🐝🐄🐐🐕🐴🦄🍕🍗 homesteader.

Early mornings, muddy boots, and more time with my hands in the dirt than on a manicure. But fresh eggs, homegrown veggies, and that simple life? Worth it every time. Who else loves the real side of homesteading? Copy and paste the text to make your own homestead post- every homestead offers something different.

We are focusing on sustainability, rotational grazing, fibers, and feeding our family. We have pigs, rabbits, turkeys, ducks, chickens a cow and a new animal coming back to the farm tomorrow. We don't have an apiary, goats, horses, a herd of cows, dogs, or meat chickens.

This hen is such a doll.

I (Caitlyn) was so excited when I found this old painted box at the thrift shop. Opened it up to find it quilted on the inside 🤩. Maybe we can add a fourth chick to it. Or leave it be- let us know in the comments.

This year, we’re focusing on making our farm more sustainable—from the way we care for our animals to the products we create. Every small choice adds up, and we’re working toward a model that’s better for the land, our animals, and our community.

It’s been a long but beautiful day—connecting with new friends at the seed swap, stitching away at some sewing projects, watching the kids run wild, and ending it all with some good old-fashioned home cooking. ❤️

At Wicker Branch Farm, we’re committed to using natural fibers and materials in everything we create. That means saying no to plastic, polyester, and other synthetics—and yes to wool, cotton, linen, and other earth-friendly alternatives.

Why? Because natural materials:

A Fluffy New Addition to the Farm! 🐇❄️

This winter, we’re welcoming an Angora rabbit to Wicker Branch Farm! These soft, lovable creatures bring so much more than just cuteness. ✨

🧶Fiber: Their wool can be spun into luxuriously soft yarn—perfect for cozy handmade creations.
🌱 Compost:Rabbit manure is an incredible natural fertilizer for our garden.
❤️ Companionship: Gentle and sweet, Angoras make wonderful farm friends.

🌪️🌧️ Rainy days and tornado warnings = the perfect excuse to tackle my work-in-progress pile! 🧵✨ While the storm rages outside, I’m cozy inside, stitching away and bringing projects to life.

There’s something about the sound of rain that makes slow, steady work feel even more peaceful (as long as the power stays on! 🤞).

More farm updates coming soon—once the skies clear, it'll be back to the dirt and the animals! 🌱🐓 But for now, it’s a day for creativity and catching up.
