This poor guy was found on the side of the road badly injured and unable to walk. He spent the night at the vet being stabilized, is having a few more tests ran and then will be having one of his legs amputated 🥺 Please send healing thoughts to Mango; we will be sure to update after a successful surgery.

Billies Buddies had some unexpected medical emergencies this week that we will be sharing as part of our emergency medical fundraiser to help replenish funds, as well as raise funds for continuous care.

Meet Chickpea. This sweet girl was a part of a recent litter we took in during a community effort. Not only was there 8 puppies instead of 5, but Chickpea had multiple open wounds that were inflamed and infected, causing swelling through her back legs and requiring surgery. After an overnight stay at the vet, Chickpea was able to come home today to continue recovery.

We will share more about Chickpea as she recovers and becomes ready for her forever family!

It’s that time of year - Summer vacations, busy schedules, weekend plans. Unfortunately animal welfare doesn’t have a summer vacation, and instead is ramping up with full shelters and more animals in need.

One open home can be the difference between safety and losing their chance altogether. Right now, foster offers have slowed down, and we can only save as many dogs as we have fosters for.

What we provide:
-Necessary supplies (including crate and food)
-All vetting costs
-Foster support

15 year old Roxie is a gentle, friendly adult cat who would be an excellent companion for someone new to cats or anyone looking for an easygoing, affectionate friend. She enjoys attention, purrs readily, and isn’t shy about showing affection once she feels comfortable.

Roxie is quiet by nature and spends much of her day happily napping nearby. She has been introduced to dogs and has shown confidence—able to meet and sniff them without immediately running off to hide, which speaks to her calm and steady temperament.

After losing her previous owner, Roxie is searching for a loving, stable home where she can feel safe and cherished for the rest of her years. She has so much love left to give and would thrive in a home that values a calm, affectionate companion.

This kitty was posted with the following details:

The shelter is no place for tiny babies with no immune system. Especially when they are sick 💔. It is so hard for them to get better in this stressful environment.

No vetting- too sick
Severe uri, hasn’t been able to open eyes. Recieving treatment at the shelter.
So so sweet. Loves affection. She cries all day for connection 🥺.
RESCUE ONLY - Medical

Luckily with a foster offer, we were able to agree to take her and currently have her in transit to the animal hospital.

While Bella receives the treatment she needs, we need to get her foster set up with some kitten basics. We have linked a wishlist for Bella if you are able to contribute to her supplies, or are interested in donating via Venmo/Zelle towards her care!
