Rosie and Purrogi received their annual heart scans to screen for HCM on Friday. They both have healthy hearts!

Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy is a serious heart disease and while there are several genes we can identify on a DNA test, not all cases are identified. This is why I schedule with a Veterinary Cardiologist once a year to screen breeding cats for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. If any are found, they are immediately removed from the breeding program.
