It takes a village to raise a foal, and this spring, our village showed up. 🌿
While we were making our move from Aiken to the Charleston area, Nazaré FL spent the spring in New York with our dear friend Lauri Burnley of Wildwood Farm Lusitanos, where she foaled our beautiful c**t Volkan Dragão 🐉 in April.
We truly can’t thank Lauri enough for the exceptional care she gave them both. Volkan has a naturally kind, confident temperament, but the fact that he’s already such a polite little gentleman is a testament to Lauri’s thoughtful and experienced foal handling 🙏. Her love and attention shine through in every youngster she raises ✨.
I had the joy of visiting this past weekend, reconnecting with Naz and Volkan, and capturing footage of Lauri’s elegant yearling fillies. They reflect the same care and quality, and we look forward to sharing them with you soon. Be sure to follow Wildwood Farm Lusitanos here on Facebook to meet her lovely horses 🐴🌟.
This spring was a perfect example of breeders supporting breeders 🤍. It’s the kind of community that makes this work possible and meaningful.
Naz and Volkan are now safely home in Charleston, thanks to the always professional Phil Silva, and settling in beautifully at Grace Farm 42, the new home of Dragão Lusitanos 🐉.
We’re so thankful to our dear friend Kristen Kazmaier 💕 for welcoming us — it means the world to begin this next chapter here.
Volkan is already settling in and making friends. Poe, Sweet Pea, Pippin, and Sailor were very curious about their new neighbor! 💛✨
