🎓 HUGE congratulations to Winston on graduating! 🎓

Winston is a 1-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier mix who came to us like a hurricane! 🌪️😂

With his boundless energy, strength, and enthusiasm for EVERYTHING, he was quite a lot to handle—and he definitely kept both his canine sister and his humans on their toes!

During his Stay & Train, Winston has learned reliable obedience, impulse control, and one of the hardest lessons for a young, high-energy dog: it’s okay (and actually kind of nice!) to do nothing. ❤️

I am SO proud of the handsome young boy Winston has become. He has worked incredibly hard to get here, and watching him learn to think, settle, and make better choices has been incredibly rewarding.

Winston, you’ve come a long way, buddy! 🥰🎓🐾

And a huge THANK YOU to his family for trusting me with their baby. It is such a privilege to be a part of these dogs’ journeys and help them become the best versions of themselves. Winston’s grandma Tammy Ribar, is one of my very best friends, which makes this journey especially meaningful to me. ❤️

We are seeking a Part-Time Kennel Technician for evenings, weekends, and some holidays to join our growing team.

The successful candidate will:
1. Have a strong affection for dogs and enjoy interacting with them
2. Have flexibility in their schedule and be willing to help out and pick up extra days when needed.
3. Take pups outside for potty breaks and playtime
4. Walk pups around our property
5. Handle evening cleanup duties
6. Prepare pups for bed
7. Be willing to learn about dog body language and behavior
8. Desire to learn to train is a plus, but not necessary for the position

So thankful to still have our Minka. She trains w me everyday. She knows dogs better than any human ever could. She is my reality check for my own feelings and energy and she provides so much more than just a working dog or companion.
This weekend, we could have lost her to bloat.

She was diagnosed w inflammatory bowel disease at 1 y/o and is now 5. Her stomach is tacked. However, while her gastropexy helps the stomach not to flip, it does not stop her belly from filling up w gas.

She eats w an elevated bowl, is not active before or after she eats, is on 9 different daily medications and supplements to keep her disease managed, and eats a clean novel protein and carb diet as she is extremely sensitive to what she eats. She is never left unsupervised outside even in a fenced area so we know what she’s doing. Yet all of this still is not foolproof.

When she is triggered w a flare up, it is unpredictable and we have nothing to attribute it to.

Thankfully, I know when it’s happening, how much we can do for her at home, and when it’s time to get her to an ER. Quite honestly, it is nothing more than luck that one of these flare ups have not taken her from us forever.
