Koda, a sweet, affectionate and playful 2-year-old Husky/German Shepherd mix, officially completed our 14-Day Hybrid Training Program!

Koda stayed with me for two weeks a few months ago, where we worked on building a strong foundation in:

🐾 Basic obedience
🐾 Confidence building
🐾 Manners
🐾 Crate training & separation anxiety
🐾 Impulse control
🐾 A little uncertainty and reactivity around unfamiliar people

But the work doesn’t stop when a dog goes home.

Since Koda’s stay, we’ve also completed three follow-up lessons with his mama, helping her put his training into practice at home and in everyday life. Today we wrapped up his final follow-up lesson, which means Koda is officially a graduate! 🎓

Koda has made so much progress, and it has been great watching his confidence grow while still seeing that same sweet, affectionate and playful personality shine through.

The biggest part of any training program is helping the dog AND the family learn how to communicate and work together, and Koda’s family now has a great foundation to continue building on.

Looking for the Right Home
Sometimes a wonderful dog simply tells us that the service dog life isn't the right life for them—and that's what we've learned about this guy.

‘Chaos’ is a happy, affectionate, high-energy (almost) 3 y/o dog with a big personality and plenty of enthusiasm for life. While he has many wonderful qualities, we've determined that he is not suited for public-access service work and would be happiest living life as a much-loved companion.

He has lived w a cat who he wanted to be best friends with. And was affectionate to kids, even smaller ones, but could get overly excited and knock little ones down. He was as gentle as an excited GSD could be. 🩷

Chaos does experience separation/crate anxiety, so we're looking for a home where he will not routinely be left alone for long periods and with someone willing to continue helping him build confidence and independence.

His ideal home will give him plenty of opportunities for exercise, play (loves playing w balls, frisbees & tug), enrichment, and continued training. A friendly, female canine companion to keep him company in a neighboring crate when he does have to be left unattended for short periods of time would be a plus!

He is not being placed as a service dog or for public-access work. We believe he will do best as a home companion where his world can be a little smaller, more predictable, and centered around his people.

He has a lot of love—and a lot of energy—to give. For the right person or family who understands his needs, we think he has the potential to be an incredibly fun and devoted companion.

Our priority isn't simply finding him a home. It's finding him the right home.

🎓 HUGE congratulations to Winston on graduating! 🎓

Winston is a 1-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier mix who came to us like a hurricane! 🌪️😂

With his boundless energy, strength, and enthusiasm for EVERYTHING, he was quite a lot to handle—and he definitely kept both his canine sister and his humans on their toes!

During his Stay & Train, Winston has learned reliable obedience, impulse control, and one of the hardest lessons for a young, high-energy dog: it’s okay (and actually kind of nice!) to do nothing. ❤️

I am SO proud of the handsome young boy Winston has become. He has worked incredibly hard to get here, and watching him learn to think, settle, and make better choices has been incredibly rewarding.

Winston, you’ve come a long way, buddy! 🥰🎓🐾

And a huge THANK YOU to his family for trusting me with their baby. It is such a privilege to be a part of these dogs’ journeys and help them become the best versions of themselves. Winston’s grandma Tammy Ribar, is one of my very best friends, which makes this journey especially meaningful to me. ❤️

We are seeking a Part-Time Kennel Technician for evenings, weekends, and some holidays to join our growing team.

The successful candidate will:
1. Have a strong affection for dogs and enjoy interacting with them
2. Have flexibility in their schedule and be willing to help out and pick up extra days when needed.
3. Take pups outside for potty breaks and playtime
4. Walk pups around our property
5. Handle evening cleanup duties
6. Prepare pups for bed
7. Be willing to learn about dog body language and behavior
8. Desire to learn to train is a plus, but not necessary for the position
