๐๐พ YOU COME FOR THE DERBY. WE DERBY FOR THE DOGS. ๐พ๐
We know it.
Most of our drivers arenโt smashing cars because they woke up one morning passionate about dog rescue. ๐ Most of the fans filling the stands probably arenโt there because theyโve been dying to attend a rescue fundraiser.
You come for the derby.
And you know what? We absolutely LOVE that you do.
But we want you to understand what it means to us when you show up.
Because for us, it was never just a derby.
This is Vesper.
A week ago, she was walking. Eating. Drinking. Loving belly rubs and living her life.
Then suddenly, she couldnโt walk.
What followed were days of fighting like hell to save her. Emergency care. Specialists. MRIs. Bloodwork. Testing. A spinal tap. Long drives. Sleepless nights. A whole lot of tears and a whole lot of money spent trying to answer one question:
How do we make her better?
Because thatโs what rescue means to us.
We know there are people who will look at a veterinary bill like hers and say, โBut sheโs just a dog.โ
Maybe to them.
Never to us.
Sheโs a life we promised to fight for.
And THIS is why, when we stand at the gate of one of our derbies and tell you how grateful we are that youโre there, we mean it with every damn piece of our hearts.
That $50 driver registration?
It matters.
That $20 wristband?
It matters.
That raffle ticket you bought even though you probably didnโt need another damn thing?
It matters.
Every car that rolls onto our track and every butt sitting in those stands helps us be able to say YES when the next Vesper needs us.
Yes, weโll take her.
Yes, weโll get her to the emergency vet.
Yes, weโll drive hours to a specialist.
Yes, weโll run the test.
Yes, weโll keep looking for answers.
And yes, weโll fight like hell for her.
So come for the derby.
Come smash some s**t. ๐
Come cheer for your favorite driver. Bring your family. Eat some food. Buy a raffle ticket. Get muddy with us. Have a damn good time.
Weโll keep doing all the worrying about the dogs.
Just know that while youโre having fun, youโre also helping us save them.
And someday, when weโre standing in an emergency hospital with a dog who desperately needs a chance, part of the reason weโre able to say โDo whatever you need to doโ is because YOU showed up.
