Our mission is to rescue cats & kittens from abuse, neglect & unfortunate death & to promote TNR. We participate in Trap-Neuter-Return for community cats.

Friends of Community-Cats Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit organization, with an incredible team of volunteers, dedicated to rescuing and saving the lives of cats and kittens whom are abandoned, neglected, sick, injured, unwanted or would otherwise be euthanized in shelters. We work with multiple shelters in Utah and are part of the Best Friends Animal Society Coalition aiming to make Utah a no-kill s

tate. We take in the abandoned, abused, unwanted, neglected, geriatric and neonatal, sick and injured and cats with severe behavioral problems. We get the cats medical care, rehabilitation and bring them back to health and prepare them for adoption. We have a great adoption program in which we spay/neuter, vaccinate and microchip the cats and kittens before placing them into loving, adoptive homes. We provide food, shelters and medical care for more than 100 community cats daily. We also assist low income families with medical care and food for their animals. We are 100% volunteer and foster based and rely on donations from the public to keep our organization running. We mostly focus on cats, however we do help other animals as well, such as dogs, small animals and livestock. Our director, Kali Cristaudo, founded this organization in 2012. Since then, we have grown so much, formed an incredible team of volunteers and have saved thousands of lives and we will continue to save more and more lives every year.

Meet Maeve, one of the most unforgettable kittens currently looking for her forever home. Found alone at just five weeks old in the middle of a baseball field, Maeve has grown into a hilarious, affectionate, energetic little firecracker. She loves supervising computer work, "helping" with household chores, stealing snacks, wrestling with her feline friends, and keeping her humans laughing. She's a purring machine with a spicy streak and enough personality for three cats. One minute she's curled up in your lap, and the next she's plotting her next adventure. Maeve must be adopted into a home with another active cat and is looking for a patient family ready to embrace her unique charm.

Does TNR really work? The science says YES! Studies have shown that Trap-Neuter-Return is highly effective at reducing community cat populations over time. In fact, a famous 16-year study on a colony of 175 cats showed that with consistent TNR, the population declined by over 99% naturally! Furthermore, within just two years of starting TNR, no new kittens were born in that colony. TNR is a compassionate, ethical, and scientifically proven solution. When we support TNR, we are choosing science and ethics over outdated catch-and-kill methods. 🔬📊🐈

🎉🎂 Happy 15th Birthday, Lilo! 🎂🎉

Today we're celebrating an incredibly special milestone for one of our most beloved rescue cats. Lilo turns 15 years old today, and we couldn't be more grateful to spend this birthday with her.

This sweet senior girl has faced more challenges in the past few months than most cats face in a lifetime. Lilo is FIV+, has hyperthyroidism, and in March underwent emergency surgery to remove an intestinal tumor. When the biopsy results came back, we received devastating news: Lilo was diagnosed with both Small Cell and Large Cell Lymphoma.

Despite everything stacked against her, Lilo wasn't ready to give up. Because she recovered so well from surgery and continued to enjoy life, we made the decision to begin chemotherapy in April. Since then, she has absolutely amazed us. She continues to eat well, enjoy her favorite comforts, and remind us every day just how resilient and determined she is.

As we celebrate her 15th birthday, we're also asking for help. While our amazing supporters helped us raise the funds needed for Lilo's emergency surgery, we haven't yet had the opportunity to fundraise for her ongoing care. Weekly blood work, exams, and chemotherapy treatments have left us more than $2,000 in the red.
