So here is the wound on Fiona’s shoulder and her shoulder is swelling from what I can only assume is an infection setting in. Dr Ciara is coming out today to stitch it up, inject pain meds and antibiotics. She’s also going to assess her eyes to see what our next steps are.

She’s also going to be giving Pistol an injection in his arthritic knee. Pain meds aren’t helping so I’m hoping the injection will.

Overall the visit today is going to cost me $1,800.

Plus I have to figure in $1,300 for at least 1 eye removal in the near future.

I desperately need donations folks! I can’t do all this rescue work without help from all of you! If you can help, please donate to me at:

Fiona arrived and is settling in. She’s really in rough shape. I’ll get pix of her eyes tomorrow but they’re BAD!

The one eye has an entire set of eye lashes growing inside the eyeball (what’s left of it) and the other eye is not much better. She’s going to need immediate surgery on the eyelash eye.

She has an infected gash in her shoulder, which has not been treated. I noticed it in the kill pen video so it’s been there for a bit. It’s oozing and deep.

Her feet are horrible and need work. I’ve already reached out to my farrier.

But she’s the most beautiful red roan color and so sweet. She’s going to be awesome once she settles in and feels better.

I am going to need donations to cover her medical care! Please donate whatever you can! I should have Palpal set up this next week but in the meantime I take Venmo and Zelle!

Ahoy there Mates! Pirate Sundae here giving you an update!

The good news is only 1 eye ruptured (left eye) and had to be removed.

The good/bad news is that her right eye is blind but the vet thinks it can be saved and sight restored with surgery by an optomologist. The bad news is that the surgery will probably be a couple $0,000.

I asked her to leave the right eye and I’ll consult with an optomologist before making a final decision. She’s a young mare (approx 13)so has a long life ahead of her.

At any rate, Mary from Jewels of the Desert and I are trying to cover the cost of this surgery with your donations. We’re getting close! If you can afford to donate, I accept Zelle and Venmo:

I delivered Sundae to the vet this morning for her surgery. She was such a good girl. Trusted me to walk into the trailer and to lead her into the stall at the vet. I love this baby girl and pray the surgery goes well.
Please donate if you feel it in your heart. These expenses come out of my pocket and I have other horses that need help. I can’t do this without your help!

Reposting for attention. Please donate if you can. God bless.

You all remember that I brought sweet Sundae into my sanctuary a couple weeks ago. She is totally blind as a result of Uveitis disease, common in appaloosas.

UPDATE:
Her eyes have degenerated to a point that she’s in a lot of pain. Thanks to Mary @ Jewels of the Desert Rescue, I’m able to get her in for surgery tomorrow morning with VCA Civano Animal Hospital in Tucson to have enucleations done on both eyes. The cost of this surgery is estimated to be $1,800.

I am a small equine rescue and can’t afford the full cost of this surgery but she can’t wait any longer. I have Sundae on Bute until the surgery to reduce her pain. I don’t have my PayPal account set up yet so I am giving you my Venmo and Zelle accounts.

I know things are tough out there but any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I don’t have a lot of followers yet so if you could share this request, it would be appreciated. Thank you and God bless.
