Dallas found his perfect home! I know the people who took him and they are awesome and hopefully he gets along with their other horses (he can be picky). Can’t wait to see his progress!

Running a horse rescue isn’t for the faint of heart. Running a sanctuary is downright expensive. In the past I’ve only asked for help with surgeries. But now I’m asking for donations to help keep my sanctuary running.
My credit card has a $22,000 balance. I live on social security plus. I am drowning in debt trying to keep these 9 babies healthy.
My hay bill runs over $750/month. Senior horses require pellets because they don’t put weight on with hay and that runs me over $700/month. Farrier is over $350/month.
They’re due for their dentals and deworming. They also get psyllium every month, pain management and electrolytes. These are just some of the expenses incurred every month.

If you can find it in your heart to help them, the horses and I would greatly appreciated it.

Today Dr Ciara from VCA Civano Animal hospital came out and removed Fiona’s ruptured eye. It was very interesting to watch it done and I can’t believe she’s up and eating like nothing happened tonight! She’s such a good girl - I just love her. She’s busy eating her antibiotics with dinner tonight and will get a good night’s rest. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

So when is the monsoon going to hit Casa Grande? All of Arizona has gotten drenched at one time or another in the past 6 weeks - we got sprinkles one day. We HAVE gotten 3 Cat5 haboobs (dust storms) in the past 7 days. But that doesn’t count cause all that does is put 2” of dirt in the water buckets! My horses desperately want rain! And cooler weather! Maybe I need to start doing rain dances in my yard? That’ll get the neighbors talking! 😜

My
Last 2 boys are Jasper and Lucky. Both are blind but are best buds together.

Jasper has had a real struggle with diarrhea. After testing, we narrowed it down to a specific parasite and a negative reaction to Timothy pellets. After treating the parasites and removing the Timothy pellets from his diet, He’s back to being healthy and looks great! I’m so relieved and grateful for Dr Ciara @ VCA Civano Animal Hospital in Tucson who was determined to get to the bottom of his problem!

Lucky is a real love bug and I love him to pieces. He’s my chunky little monkey who has terrible allergies and was losing his mane and tail from constant rubbing. I started using MTG on the mane and tail and hair growth started almost immediately! I also put him on HistALL, an allergy powder, and his itching has slowed down dramatically.

Oscar, my 35-year old appaloosa (my heart horse), is having a morning chat with Dallas over the fence. Dallas is a fantastic 20ish gelding - the only one I have up for adoption. A trainer came out and checked him out and other than being a little rusty, he’d make a trail horse for somebody!

Dallas came to me because the owner was told he had arthritis in his knees. To be honest, I’ve had him for several months and I’ve seen no signs of arthritis. He’s a very chill horse and since he’s in his early 20’s, I will only adopt him out to someone who wants a trail horse (no barrels, roping, etc).

I’ve had a couple people ask if he’d be a good kids horse. I’m inclined to say yes (but I can’t guarantee it) but only after an experienced rider has ridden him for a week or so. He’s rusty and needs muscle built up but he’s so chill, I think he’d be good with kids with experience around horses.

Adoption fee: $7🥕 🥕.

Here’s Pistol. He’s a 20-something gelding that a young boy used for goat-tying in rodeo events. Unfortunately he’s got a blown-out knee and he’s had a couple knee injections before he came to me. I want to save those injections as a last resort so he’s been getting Legend injections every month with low daily doses of Bute. He’s doing fantastic on that regiment and my fingers are crossed that we can give him a long comfortable life. He’s such a sweet calm boy - I just love him!
