❤️ Some dogs are lucky enough to have owners who refuse to give up on them. Arlo and Alfie are two of those dogs. 🐾
These two boys have some pretty incredible humans in their corner, and I want to take a moment to recognize them.
Despite trying previous trainers, online training courses, and putting in countless hours of effort without seeing the results they hoped for, their owners never gave up.
They never gave up hope that Arlo and Alfie could one day enjoy peaceful walks without constantly reacting to the world around them. They never gave up hope that Alfie could become a more confident dog, capable of navigating new environments without feeling overwhelmed or afraid.
And most importantly, they never stopped believing their dogs were capable of more.
When you're struggling with behavioral challenges, it's incredibly easy to feel defeated. The frustration, stress, embarrassment, and disappointment can take a toll. Especially when you're doing everything you think you're supposed to do, and nothing seems to be working.
But here's something I wish more dog owners understood:
Just because something hasn't worked yet doesn't mean your dog is incapable of change.
Sometimes it takes a different approach, a better understanding of what's driving the behavior, and a willingness to keep learning and adapting.
Today, Arlo and Alfie are making incredible progress toward becoming calmer, more confident dogs. And while I'm proud of the work we've accomplished together, I'm even more proud of the people who made that progress possible.
To Arlo and Alfie's owners: Congratulations.
Not just for how far your dogs have come, but for your patience, dedication, and determination to give them a better quality of life.
You didn't give up when things got difficult. You kept advocating for your dogs, even when the answers weren't easy to find.
Your dogs are incredibly lucky to have you.
And to anyone reading this who is struggling with a reactive, fearful, or overwhelmed dog: Don't lose hope. Progress is possible, and you don't have to figure it all out alone.
