📣We need volunteers!!📣

We are in great need of volunteers for our cat room habitat at the PetSmart in Cartersville! Without volunteers, we can’t have cats stay in the cat room, and the room is a great way for cats to get attention by potential adopters throughout the week.

Our volunteers help keep the cat room clean throughout the week and spend time with the cats so they can have some fun and get love. It’s also very rewarding to spend a little while with the kitties!

Volunteering can work with your schedule - you can sign up for a day/time that works for you. Every helping hand makes a huge difference for our kitties in the cat room!

🐾✨ WISHLIST WEDNESDAY: 16 KITTIES NEED YOUR HELP! ✨🐾

A local animal control reached out for help because of overcrowding, and they sent out an urgent plea to clear 20 cages.

🐾We were able to rescue 16 kitties in need — including 2 adult cats, a mama cat and her 4 babies, 6 kittens, and 3 tiny bottle babies!

These little ones have hungry bellies, and caring for so many kittens means going through A LOT of food!

✨This Wishlist Wednesday, we especially need KITTEN FOOD!✨

Every can, bag, and donation helps us keep these kitties fed, healthy, and growing while they wait for their forever homes. Whether you send one item or a whole box, every bit makes a difference!

🚨❤️‍🩹 FIREBALL NEEDS YOUR HELP!❤️‍🩹🚨

At 9 years old, Fireball was returned to us after more than 7 years because he had persistent nasal discharge. Instead of receiving veterinary care, he was put outside and left untreated. 💔

When we took him in, bloodwork revealed thyroid levels more than 4 times the normal range, along with parasites and poor body condition.

We spent $600 on initial vet care and stabilizing his thyroid levels, but Fireball still needs help! His ongoing nasal issues need further investigation, and he also needs dental care for missing and broken teeth.

📅 His next vet appointment is October 26, and we’re asking for your help to cover the cost of his continued care.

Fireball deserves comfort, answers, and a chance to enjoy life without untreated medical issues. ❤️

🐾 Every donation helps! If you can’t donate, please share his story. Let’s give Fireball the care he deserves!

🐾❄️ HELP US KEEP OUTDOOR KITTIES WARM THIS WINTER! ❄️🐾

As temperatures drop, we want to help community cats that need a safe place to escape the cold. We are hosting a STYROFOAM SHELTER DRIVE, and you can help us turn styrofoam coolers into shelters for the cats!

✨ HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP!

🐾DONATE A STYROFOAM COOLER!
Drop off clean Styrofoam coolers at the Cartersville PetSmart! Just let a staff member know your donation is for The Cats Meow Rescue, and they’ll place it in our cat room.

🏠 WANT TO BUILD A SHELTER YOURSELF? HERE’S HOW!

🐾 Step 1: Start with a large Styrofoam cooler with a lid.

✂️ Step 2: Carefully cut an entrance 6 inches from the bottom, approximately 6x6 inches. An elevated entrance keeps moisture out! Use duct tape to keep the entry hole to prevent any sharp edges that could hurt a cat.

🌾 Step 3: Add a layer of STRAW — NOT HAY! Straw helps insulate the shelter and repels moisture, while hay can absorb moisture and leave kitties cold.

📦 Step 4: Secure the lid with duct tape to keep cold air and moisture out.

📍 Step 5: Place the finished shelter somewhere protected from wind and rain, such as under a porch or beside a building. Elevating it off the ground can help keep it dry!

🐾 EVERY COOLER CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! These simple shelters help outdoor cats retain body heat and find refuge when temperatures drop.

🐈 PLEASE DONATE, BUILD, OR SHARE! Even if you can’t make a shelter yourself or donate a cooler, sharing this post could help us reach someone who can. Let’s work together to give our community cats a safe place to stay!💕
