This whole thing turned into an āabout usā I guess so here it is š¤£
This just needs a permanent place on this page. Button is one of those āone of a kindā doggos- not surprising based on her sweet mama, Nala.
About 13ish years ago, I had a traumatic incident and was āprescribedā a service dog. I didnāt know too much about it then but a puppy seemed like exactly what I needed so I searched high and low, came to ADORE English cream golden retrievers and found THE ONE āaqua collar girlā. We went through hours and hours and hours of training together and she was my absolute best friend. She came to classes with me while I finished school, she came to my classroom while I taught as a teacher, and then she was with me day by day as I bumbled through motherhood.
After her first year of āworkingā I needed her less and less. I still needed her as my best friend and doggo but she gave me confidence in the world again- she gave me my life back. She was my absolute āheartā doggo. She ended up having two litters- one 100% English cream golden retrievers and one teddy doodle litter with our sweet pup, Thor. We didnāt have plans to keep any pups at that time but her first litter, the full English creams, we had someone back out a week before pick upā¦and that was the sign we needed, we kept āpurple girlā now the amazing Button. She wasnāt āfirstā pick and we didnāt āchooseā her but I always tell families- I would take ālastā pick anytime- because we are so confident in each of these sweet babies. Our family puts our whole heart into raising each one. We are thoughtful and intentional about everything with the pups- from healthcare, exposure, socialization, desensitizing areas that can be ātriggersā for dogs during grooming and appointments, to just loving on them knowing that we hope they become someoneās whole world, a familyās comfort, a kiddoās safe space, a persons best friend. We treasure that we get to spend those first couple months loving them and donāt take that privilege lightly.
