Just some newly appointed farm dogs attending to their new farm dog duties... like herding livestock and rolling in fresh calf s**t π€¦π»ββοΈπ€£
We finally moved and have been in our new house for almost a month now. We have acquired some new livestock, and given everyone some new jobs to do π
Maverick continues to build her confidence with the calves, showing lots of promise - which is very exciting!
Zuko, who is now almost 14 and has never had any real training, shows zero fear with the calves and jumps right in with helping us herd them into their pens at night like he's been doing it his whole life π he never ceases to amaze me.
Im planning on getting Rogue and Bex started with some real herding training here soon. Rogue is showing some interest in the cows now as well as the ducks, and now that Bex is a little older, she's also starting to show way more interest in it than she did the first few times she saw the ducks! She is VERY enthusiastic and very much a puppy about it all lol- so she will probably do a lot of spectating and learning to stay calm on the tether for a little while.
I am so happy to be out here at this new house, and I'm sure the dogs are enjoying it too. π©΅ I'm just glad I can really give them the life they deserve to have. Especially Zuko... with him being so old, I was worried we wouldn't get larger livestock in time for him to work before he leaves us.. not that he's in bad shape- he's just old lol. He's a bigger animal kind of dog so he's not really allowed to herd the ducks- he gets a little too rough with them.. lol π
But he's a happy old man with his cows now haha!
