Starting the weekend the best way we know how—on the trail. 🐾🌲

Blaze and I snuck out for a little Friday adventure to kick off the weekend. We couldn’t have asked for better weather—it was one of those days that reminds you just how good it feels to unplug, breathe some fresh air, and spend time outside. Honestly, it’s the best kind of therapy.

Spending time on the trail together reminds me why I started Backcountry Pup in the first place: to give dogs the opportunity to explore, build confidence, and simply enjoy being dogs.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and gets outside with their pup for a little adventure of their own. 🧡

A new trail means new sights, new smells, and new opportunities to learn. 🌲🐾

Today’s adventure was more than just a hike—we used the changing environment to reinforce everyday skills like loose leash walking, recall, and impulse control while still making time to sniff, explore, and just be a dog. With the summer heat, we slowed the pace, took plenty of water breaks, and finished with one happy, tired pup. That’s exactly what these one-on-one adventures are all about.

Big day for Blaze—his first group hike. 🐾

Rain? What rain? 🐾🌲

Adventure Day took us into the Belknap Range for miles of exploring, sniffing, climbing, and enjoying everything the trail had to offer. Wet rocks, muddy paws, and happy dogs—that’s a successful day in my book.

These extended outings give dogs the opportunity to experience new trails, build confidence in different environments, and spend the day doing what they were born to do: explore.
