Socialization isn’t about Blaze meeting every person or dog—it’s about teaching him to be neutral and calm in the world. 🐾
For Blaze’s first trip to Lowe’s, he didn’t meet any new people. Instead, we focused on exposure to a new environment and keeping his focus on me.
Puppy Do’s:
• Focus on neutrality: Let them observe the busy world without feeling the need to react or interact.
• Build comfort: Use a towel and a bone in the shopping cart to help them stay relaxed in a new space.
• Practice structure: Use these outings to work on kennel manners and waiting for a release word.
Puppy Don’ts:
• Don’t turn it into a meet-and-greet: Socialization is about exposure, not constant interaction.
• Don’t overwhelm them: Take breaks to sit quietly outside and just soak in the surroundings.
• Don’t skip the basics: Building a confident adventure dog starts with these quiet, focused moments. 💛 #

April showers bring... May flowers? 🌷
Well, in our neck of the woods, April “showers” just brought 3 inches of fresh powder! ❄️🐾
These three didn’t get the memo that it’s supposed to be spring, and honestly, they aren’t complaining. Shaking off the spring chills with a high-energy off-leash hike!

Nothing but happy, tired pups after a solid trail adventure. This is what a good day looks like around here — fresh air, big sniffs, and even bigger smiles.
