September 28 is World Rabies Day — an important reminder that when it comes to rabies, prevention matters. 🐾

Rabies is a fatal disease that can affect both animals and people, but it is also preventable. Keeping your pet’s rabies vaccination current is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect them, your family, and our community.

Wildlife such as bats, raccoons, skunks, foxes, and coyotes can carry rabies, which means even indoor pets aren’t completely without risk.

This World Rabies Day, take a moment to check your pet’s records. Not sure if they’re due? Give us a call at 828-667-0247 — we’re happy to help.

Introducing.. Cardamon!

At only 9 weeks old, those paws are already making some pretty big promises. We have a feeling this little guy is going to be a whole lot of dog, and a whole lot of personality!

Welcome to Candler Veterinary Clinic, Cardamon!

Today, we pause to remember and reflect on the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

In the darkest hours following the attacks, more than 300 search-and-rescue dogs deployed to Ground Zero alongside their handlers, working tirelessly through dangerous and heartbreaking conditions to find survivors and bring comfort to rescue workers.
Behind those four-legged heroes were dedicated veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support teams. Around the clock, veterinary professionals tended to the physical needs of these brave animals—treating cuts and burns, flushing debris from eyes and noses, and providing critical rest and hydration.

Today, we honor the lives lost, the heroes who stepped forward, and the unbreakable bond between humans and animals that shined a light in a time of profound darkness. Never Forget. 🇺🇸

🧺 TOWEL DRIVE! 🐾

We are in need of towel donations! We go through towels constantly while caring for our patients, and our supply could use a little help.

We’re happy to accept new or gently used towels of any size — they don’t have to be pretty, just clean and usable!

Donations can be dropped off at the clinic during normal business hours. Every towel helps us keep our patients clean, dry, cozy, and cared for. 💙

Thank you for supporting our patients and our team!

Meet Frank 🐾

Our newest puppy visitor, Frank, is already proving he’s got plenty of personality—and a few tricks up his sleeve. He’s a very smart guy, a quick learner, and, judging by this video, he knows exactly when he has an audience. 😂

We’re looking forward to watching this little show-off grow up. ❤️

Daisy has officially graduated from her puppy vaccines! 🎓🐾

She’s now fully vaccinated and ready to take on the world, (and yes, we may have taken the opportunity to put a tiny graduation cap on her).

Congrats, Daisy! 💕
