😅 ok guys I know it looks like I’m just adding a bazillion new birds but I’m building two entirely new pens with new bloodlines, there is a reason and purpose behind each bird. And let’s be honest, we all know a young silkie may or may not turn out a keeper. So I’m over here like Pokémon trying to catch em all 😮‍💨

The wait is over eek!!!!

When SilkiesPlus sends you a picture of the most beautiful little mottled baby and you reply with “box it up!”

AND HE DOES 😳🤩🤯

Not only did he send me the most precious baby that I originally saw but FOUR FLOOFS!!!

This is exactly the pick me up I needed after yesterday’s destruction. I’m really feeling so blessed this week by all my silkie friends!!

INTRODUCING Buttercup, I have waited and prayed for this sweet girl 🥰 Becky is one of my OG chicken friends and I genuinely feel blessed that she is willing to share such a beautiful floof with me!
Buttercup arrived safe and sound today despite the tornado and hail 😅 and this is only one of the amazing floofs I have to share with you all 😮‍💨 this is both the best and worst week BUT we will focus on the best 🥰

Got an alert on my phone for severe thunder storms and tornado…that was supposed to be over yesterday and today was going to just rain.

Well it wasn’t, and when I say it darn near felt like a tornado hit our house I’m not kidding. I got some very special birds this morning and was letting them stretch their legs in the front yard before quarantining. Ten minutes after I put them away all hell broke lose!

This is very uncommon weather! We are not prepped for golfball size hail, in my entire life I have never seen hail this size in our hometown. I’m grateful that I was able to secure the new floofs in time, chicken daddy literally grabbed me around the waist when I tried to run out and check my main coop with an uncovered run.

I’m a little sick over all the damage and potential insurance claims we have to navigate 😞

But I won’t let this rob me of joy. I have a surprise being delivered tomorrow and I’m praying for sunny skies so I can share them with you all 🥰🥰🥰

It’s been a weird day ya’ll, no tornado but prayers for safety for our animals are appreciated 🙏

I will never stop being obsessed with the puzzle that is lavender. 💜💜💜

One of the major puzzle pieces is wings…this precious boy has wings that literally sit on his back 😬 is it SOP? Maybe not is it a piece to the puzzle, absolutely! My third lavender pen is all about putting the pieces together, I am very grateful to all the breeders that have shared their hard work with me… this boy is another piece to the puzzle. His wings are high and tight! He is also the only silkie I have ever seen fly into a tree 😳 100% large foul chicken energy with this one!!

I very recently decided that I cannot function without beautiful eggs… luckily I have a very good friend Cat at Wolfpack Farm who has the most beautiful egg layers! I’m talking about multi gen olive eggers, BCM’s speckled welsummer all the things 💅 the first box arrived sumo slammed and smashed and yet look I still have two precious babies 🥰 the second box arrived today completely intact soooo I anticipate many beautiful babies 🙏
